That new Macan is no stooge. It'll give the HC a run for the money 0-60 and then fall away but damn that is saying something.
Hmm. Meanwhile my girlfriend ditched her Macan Turbo when I bought my 'Hawk.
She couldn't stand being so much slower, so she also bought a Trackhawk.

Michelle has been rolling around in her '13 Ram 1500 Hemi regular cab since we bought it (new) so I wanted to hook her up with something nice now that I'm in a position to. We test drove Macans, first the S and then the GTS. After flooring the throttle on both, I could tell that she was underwhelmed. I looked at the sales dude and said "We need to drive the Turbo". First romp on the gas in the Turbo and she looks over at me with a big grin.
Jackpot. :giggle:

Of course, you know she's as big of a gearhead as I am lol

I'll post pics of it when it finally arrives, if that day ever comes.

What year was it? The 2020 (or maybe 2021) I'm not up on the Porsche year models myself is pretty damn fast (though that may not be real world... like that Demon 9.65 stock)

Good question. Probably a '19. Heck, I can't keep track of her frequent purchases.
But it was a mere 400 hp, that I know, since I could give her crap about being down over 300 horsies compared to my 'Hawk.

Yeah, it's a AWD crossover with 434hp/405lb-ft from a 2.9L TT V6 and weighs 4400 lbs. 0-60 in 4.1 seconds with Sport Chrono (which we optioned). Definitely gonna get raped by a Trackhawk, both 0-60 and 1/4 mile if you were to line them up. If wifey wants to hit warp speed she'll just grab the Redeye key and go whoop some ass with that.

Kind of a odd beginning with how we ended up choosing the Macan. We have a older home, built in the early 60s. I'm not a big fan of the place but we're across the street from my parents (both in their 80s) and we want to be close-by for the rest of their time on earth. Anyway, if you are familiar with house construction from that period, these homes aren't really known for spacious garages. The Redeye barely fits on one side but the second stall has a fridge and stand-up freezer at the back so there's even less room.

Based on our desire to add a high-performance SUV to the stable (has to be HP, obviously), we absolutely took a long look at the TrackHawk. My initial concern was "will it fit in the garage". My dad owns a SRT (6.4 NA) version of the Grand Cherokee so we borrowed it to "give it a go" as the dimensions are identical. Unfortunately, because of the room needed for the fridge/freezer, it was a no-go. The Jeep GC really isn't a big SUV so we then shifted focus toward "crossover" types which are typically a smidge smaller and the Macan stood out. The performance, quality and style (subjective, I know) advantages brought it to the top of our list.

Probably not everyday that someone picks a Porsche because it fits in the garage, but there you are....lol.

You'll like it. Most likely a lot.
I'm still surprised that my girlfriend stepped down (except in power) to a 'Hawk. I figured she'd regret selling the Macan within a week.

You did get the air suspension, right? Oh, and we still have the 18s with nice Michelins for the Macan. I always put the smallest wheel possible on our cars, to get some sidewall.

Totally understand that. If I ever went with a widebody idk if it would fit in my garage.. Lol I'd make it fit

Really, the only thing that should make you sick about all of this has been your own attitude.

And yet you are a member of both forums, and post in both forums, and don't see an issue in that. Why? Because of the content you post versus the content I post?

I have gotten different feedback in both forums, and it has beneficial. It has led to different discussions, which I also feel have been beneficial. Do you think I am simply out to smear Dodge, and that hating me makes my points and my posts invalid? You are obviously blinded by your irrational hate for me you aren't even reading what I am saying.

From actually reading your posts, you have only purchased and will only purchased Dodge products. You have no perspective outside of this, nor do you care for one, nor do you care what the experience is, and are happy with however they choose to treat you. You don't care if they improve, and thereby they have no incentive to improve as they have your money regardless.

I have no problem with this, as I am sure Dodge doesn't - but it invalidates your opinion as a point of consideration in this matter as your opinion has nothing to do with what actually happens. It will stay the same regardless of what anyone says or whatever happens. It is invalid not because your opinion is invalid, but your opinion has nothing to do with the topic at all.

Unlike you I have listened and conceded points people, including you have made. This is not because you are universally right and I am universally wrong, it is because I am reasonable and rational individual. You choose to ignore the points and questions I asked. You choose to accuse me of position I tell you I don't believe I have, and when I ask you what I have said that would show I hold this position you accuse me of, you just ignore the question and continue to accuse me of said position.

You have said you wouldn't want me as a customer - well I can tell you I would not want to purchase anything from you. Based on what I have seen, I am sure you feel you have no accountability to your customers. That isn't even the real reason I wouldn't buy from you, however. You just seem like a mean and hateful person, and I have would have no interest in supporting you.

You seem like someone who just wants to dump on others to make yourself feel good. You have aligned your self worth so strongly with Dodge that any challenge to Dodge - even ones that are constructive, are met with just vile repute from you. I am sorry, but I have taken the time here on these forums not to destroy your precious Dodge - but to make it better for all that come after me with what I feel like is constructive criticism.

Do you think the ownership experience is perfect and can't be improved? I don't. Do you think that if it were improved Dodge could sell more vehicles? I do. Do you think by selling more vehicles Dodge would have more leverage to make even better vehicles? I do. Do you think if Dodge doesn't improve in ways customer care about, yet other manufactures do, that they will be around forever? I don't. Do you think not telling Dodge about this, and getting other people's perspectives on these issues can't be helpful to see how many and what types of concerns or how things can be improved would help Dodge? I don't.

Despite your ardent defense of Dodge, your actions will hurt the brand in the long run rather then help. I doubt you can see this as you seem a very short sighted person. I am not brand loyalist. Unlike you, I will not simply purchase a product because of the label someone slaps on it. The more Dodge offers cars in this price range the more they will get buyers like me, that have experience outside Dodge and see that the experience can be improved or isn't what they feel it should be. How they handle that will become important to their ability to continue to sell cars like this.

Again, do I feel they are REQUIRED to do this? No. Do I feel they OWE me this. No. Do I feel having it could GREATLY improve the experience for those who care (and there are others who care besides me), yes.

Quite frankly there is nothing more to discuss with you - if you could have even called it a discussion. I am sure you will continue your vile repute regardless of what I say - which will just devalue your opinion amongst reasonable people.

I hope everything goes well with your current orders, and that you enjoy your ownership experience, whatever that may be.

So, I WAS right. You're just here behaving like an entitled brat that doesn't have to wait in line like the rest of us did. Got it. Nothing more to see here.

As far as I'm concerned, you don't deserve a Hellcat and I hope Dodge cancels your order out from under you. People like you typically drive Mercedes Benz S class cars with automatic tissue dispensers in the center console. I suggest you go order one of those.

What did I say to make you think that? I don't believe that was my complaint at all. Perhaps I could have worded something better to make it more clear?

I have said many times in this thread it isn't the amount of time waiting, it is the lack of information. Perhaps you didn't actually read any of it and just jumped to this conclusion?

How is insulting someone who has had less then great ordering experience, and has taken the time to provide feedback as to how it could be improved make anything better? Or, is this just to make yourself feel better? Oh, I get it. I see who is acting like and entitled brat here ...

As far as I'm concerned, you don't deserve a Hellcat and I hope Dodge cancels your order out from under you.
So, if someone is in any way unhappy with the ownership experience, you think Dodge should cancel their order - and that this is the best thing for Dodge as a company? I am glad you don't make the decision, as you would have run the company into the ground and they would never have produced these vehicles! That would be a shame.

People like you typically drive Mercedes Benz S class cars with automatic tissue dispensers in the center console. I suggest you go order one of those.
Never owned a Mercedes S class. Not really interested in one, sorry. Not sure how you would have come to that conclusion - but obviously you have misjudged me and are a terrible judge of character. In fact, I have only purchased sports cars over the last 20 years. The last car I purchased we as 2019 ZR1. Super fun car. In fact, driving on long haul road trips is what pushed me towards ordering a Hellcat. The Hellcat isn't even to replace the ZR1 on these trips - it is because when my wife drives as well she doesn't have anything that can keep up with me.

I am not hard up for vehicles to drive. The issue isn't the amount of time, so really your insult isn't even grounded in anything but your lack of comprehension of the situation.

Maybe that's it, I dunno. Something about the original post bothered me a bit. I remember thinking "Yeah, I get guys like this in our dealership occasionally". lol
I don't necessarily think that it's a bad thing to expect effective communication. That said, a bit of understanding while organizations continue to struggle to adapt to post-COVID bullshit seems to be in order.

It's not just the personnel missing from the factory floor, it's also the things that no one thinks about. A good example is third party vendors that make components FCA uses during assembly. Many of these 3PSuppliers only have one customer.....the one manufacturer that uses their product. Several of those in that category operate on thin margins. A two month shutdown wipes some of them out so the manufacturer has to get new vendors, go through validation once the new company produces a sample, etc, etc. We also know that some of these vehicles are built in Northern Block....er, I mean Canada....and there are cross-border restrictions that didn't exist before COVID. Not to mention all of the ridiculous government mandates on both sides of the fence because of this Commie Flu.

The sun will come up in the morning. We're still gonna have to pay taxes every year. OP will get his car. Life goes on.

What about the original post bothered you? Happy for feedback as to how I could have worded something better?

I am very cordial person. I believe in treating people with respect. Even when I have a complaint, I try to be very understanding and I certainly don't berate people. I also try to give people what I feel is adequate time to address my complaints when I have them.

I don't necessarily think that it's a bad thing to expect effective communication.
Which brings me to my second point of, when communicated, I can be really understanding. If feel this is true of most people and most situations. If more time is needed and I feel there is a reasonable explanation - great. If there is a hold up for some reason, great. I can understand that. But when I get "This should have been done", "This is taking longer then it should", "There looks to be an issue here", and yet get no information as to what is going on - then it creates a bad customer experience for me.

My chief complaint is the lack of good communication from Dodge.

That said, a bit of understanding while organizations continue to struggle to adapt to post-COVID bullshit seems to be in order.
I have been very understanding. I have not said I what time I think the car should be produced in. It has been the Dealership and the SRT operators that have stated they think there are issues with the timeline, which has made me believe there are issues with the timeline. As I have said in other posts, if they had said "Things are just taking longer. We are backed up be cause of the pandemic." I would have been completely understanding.

In fact - I was SHOCKED at how quickly the car was produced. Very impressed by that all things considered.

Not to mention all of the ridiculous government mandates on both sides of the fence because of this Commie Flu.
Again, had anything of this nature been said ... We are waiting on parts, we are backed up because of reduced capacity, etc. Maybe they just don't want to say that because if it gets out it will potentially look bad? Perhaps any other time I would have gotten more information and this wouldn't be a problem? I am wiling to concede that, though others on the forums outside of the COVID timeframe have expressed similar stories ...

The sun will come up in the morning. We're still gonna have to pay taxes every year. OP will get his car. Life goes on.
I didn't say this was the end of the world. Far from it.

Well, as the user name says, you seem to be hitting some buttons around here. I think your concerns are reasonable. Seems like Dodge could be much better about knowing where an ordered car is and be able to inform you on its progress. It would be nice to feel like a valued customer whos order is appreciated. While this isn't exactly a red carpet brand, it wouldn't be that hard to make an effort to please customers. I'm anti-fanboy, that never helps anyone. I love my Cat and am happy for the purchase but I have no loyalty to the brand. If I like the product I'll buy it. If I like a different one I'll buy that one. They should be working for my dollars or they will be much less likely to get them. Anyway, hope you get the car and enjoy it!

It was more that you weren't making your point with efficiency. Lacking "word economy", if you like. It's a common tendency with a certain customer type that I see from time to time. They typically are less-than-understanding and self-focused. Not calling you that...just giving you my first reaction when I read your OP which is based on nothing but my own sample group.

Again, had anything of this nature been said ... It's difficult to communicate effectively when you're running around with your hair on fire trying to fix a multitude of new problems that you've never seen before while also trying to anticipate the un-anticipatble.

Wow, I managed a run-on sentence AND made up a new word at the same time. @BULL, is there a special award for that? :ROFLMAO:
