I have been thinking about you coming east in the fall for the MSHS event. The weather should be good and your cat will run at least 2 or 3 tenths quicker. Regarding us lining up, it is a drivers race, you are quicker based on Kentucky, 8.90 versus 9.006 (on boost). I am not sure it is worth the time and money for the drive. When I towed with my Ram 1500 gas motor, 10 or 9 miles to gallon (pulling 8,000 pounds) and currently my 3500 gets 10 to 11 on diesel, pulling 13,000 pounds.

I think it is outrageous that you could run in the heavy weight class and be competitive in the 8.5 class (you should run below 8.70, probably below 8.60). Maybe that is worth the drive, money versus crazy accomplishments, I go back and forth on this, a part of me says, carpe diem, send it, you only live once, another part says, save the expense, put the money into the cat, hmmmm

Cole... one of the things that makes it worth the drive for me is we don’t have much going on out here. Consequently we don’t get a chance to race like this on a regular basis like the eastern half of the country. Hell... it’s a 8 hour tow for me just to get to my shop. I was ready to make that drive just to get out of the house! My car is a big advertising factor for the shop and business is booming. Being a part of that is a lot of fun for me. As far as the car goes.... I’m looking for 8.50 capability in good conditions and I think we can get. I’m planning on going to the new 3.8 Whipple when it’s available and they have assured me that it will blow my old 4.5 out of the water. I’m pretty sure that isn’t going to happen by Atco but the shop wants to go just to shoot for that personal best that we can’t get out here. And yes.... I am always fighting with the cost of going racing like that or using the money for the car instead. I need another set of rear wheels so I can have a mounted set of tires ready for when I hit the wear bars. We actually had to change a set of tires in the heat at the race. Not fun. I could have paid for a new setup with what it cost to go to the race. But... at some point you have to stop building and go race!

Thanks I appreciate it. Hopefully Atco will still be running in November and we can make it. I think I have one more long haul in me and maybe we’ll have a rematch in Heavyweight. Who knows.... I may even get a shot at Cole in S/P. Could be close if he’s not spraying. Who would like to see that race?
It would be a good race. Fwiw, I've banned him from spraying...lol
His shit is still fast on boost either way though

If I don't spray he has 300 RWHP on me, but I am 600 pounds liter and run like stink. I may have to port the snout and bearing plate. Yes, Simon took the magnifying glass away from me, I cannot read the jets without it, I was gong to hit it with some go spray. To get all that weight going like he does is impressive, not easy, gotta be careful, that big girl may put me on the trailer.

There are so many incredible builds going on right now it’s just dumbfounding. That’s a friends Redeye just completed. Another one of the shops cars has just decided to follow instead of going with the 9” IRS. The writing is on the wall. I always wanted to go that route but didn’t have a clue on where to start. Not any more. One of the things that will alway be a struggle is traction. The heavier the car the worse it is. I’ve got a transbrake and a 2-step and I’ve been warned not to use it. The CVs in those axles won’t take it. Super prep and we look good in spite of the IRS. Anything less and it’s a struggle. That is the answer to that. And yes.... I’m stirring the pot 😂

Yes actually they do. MPR Race Cars in Michigan. It is the actual Drag Pak setup and it can be purchased as a kit just like the DSS Conversion. They can do the install or leave that up to you. The one in the picture is a Strange custom 9” Pro Gear with 40 spline Spool, gun drilled axles and Strange Brakes. Everything needed to install in a current Challenger is included. The one pictured is in a Utah based 2019 Redeye out of SpankinTime in St George/Hurricane. We are in the process of getting one of these for Joe Padilla’s red Demonic Hellcat out of the SRT Autoworks shop in Phoenix. We’re planning on the install being done by Carlin Fabrications in SoCal. I’ll look forward to running one next year.
