Well I had two goals today. Work on my 60ft and run a 9 and my first pass I did just that.
I don’t see a whole lot of people with a 2.85 and E85 especially flex fuel.
My mods are
Flex fuel tune
2.85 - grip tech
Fic1200
Tapp performance dual pump
180 deg thermostat
305 45 r17 et street - no front skinnies
Aad drag pack
This is still with the 2.62 rear
Full weight
Da1400
aad drag pack had to really help look at that 60ft
Unfortunately, this was my only good pass of the 3. The car rubbed on the suspension wire again. I think the guy when he alighted it cut my zip tie and it hit on my second pass.
Needless to say I think I can do better
My go pro didn’t record. So here’s a cell phone video.

Hooked good and a pretty good mph. I’ll bet it has better ET’s in it’s future!

I stayed at the track after my race to watch. Pretty cool to go 9.9 when your tuner says it probably won't. Just wait until he gets negative DA 9.7 maybe 9.6:)

The mph is surely there. So is the 60ft. I’ll just put some rocks in my shoes and I’ll be good to go 😂

We talked about humidity and it may be a bigger factor that I even thought it was. In good DA last year it was 50%. The last 2 days it was low 20. If the DA drops 800 feet but the humidity goes up 30% is it a trade off? I'm guessing here but would suck to run the some times in better air because of it

Time will tell on the humidity. For us that was low humidity. If I could have made a pass around 10:30 or 11pm. It would have been a good indicator. As da dropped and humidity went up.

That's a great run and really good mph and 60' for a 2.85 setup. Humidity definitely matters, water doesn't compress 😉

Welcome to the 9 second club.

Well I found the reason why I was having issues after the first pass. The control arm nuts that hold the tabs in place came loose to the point the tab popped out.
I guess the alignment forgot to tighten those two.
I’m not happy about that at all. But it’s what I get for not checking everything over when I got it home.

Shouldn’t have to check but I agree it’s not a bad idea just for peace of mind.

People wonder why I never take my car anywhere when I need work done . This is why.
Plus I get to learn the car doing it myself.

Baro makes a difference also.
Here in the spring running in the same DA as in the fall. The fall runs will be quicker.
Baro is over 30 vs under. Humidity is lower in the fall as well as the grains are lower.
My car can be a tenth or two slower in spring vs fall here at the same DA.
Mph is lower in spring also.

Makes me miss running nitrous cars, when half your atmosphere is in a bottle.. times were the same year round pretty much

Btw- great run on the 2.85, congrats. I've had similar 60 ft times - it always amazes me that a car this big leaves so hard.

Congrats @jonx96, nice pass !

Humidity is a big factor, the temps can be up but if humidity is low, it'll still make a good pass but when humidity is high, it's a ET killer.

I only left at 1400-1500. I want to try 1700-1800. See if it makes a difference.
