Well, that is a question many will ask.
The answer is ..........It has a Redeye Vin#

The nicest thing though is the fact people could hardly get into the 8's with the Prior to Hellcats SRT8s and they are going into the 7's with Hellcats.

The car has a BGE block in it. If you don’t know what that is….it’s a Hellcat engine. It’s modified. So is any Hellcat with anything other than a original part from the factory in it. A Demon will always be a Demon and a Hellcat (Redeye or otherwise) will always be a Hellcat no mater what is done to it. I have had guys with nitrous systems in their cars tell me mine isn’t a Hellcat anymore (but theirs is) because I have a aftermarket trans in it….Stfu. James car is work of art. The knowledge and labor that has gone into it is astounding. Some will just say all it takes is money. Clueless. Besides being a showpiece, this 4000 lb car with a IRS runs 0 to 60 mph in .8 seconds. His best 1/8 mile is 4.8 seconds at 142 mph and his best 1/4 is 7.9 seconds at 175 mph. There is a world of drag racing Hellcats that doesn’t reside here on this forum. They actually build and race these things rather that just talk about them. To say they’re not Hellcats anymore is a stupid as saying a 55 Chevy isn’t a 55 Chevy anymore because it’s been built as a drag car.

James is a great guy and his car is the truth. When I was at the MHSH in Oct he shook my hand and congratulated me. Class act and cool dude to hang out and joke around with in the pits. @Linda's Hell Cat ill be back next weekend too. Dialed in at 10.04 😉

James and I are good friends. I met him at the MSHS race in Kentucky last year along with Speedy at James trailer and we talk on a weekly basis now. Sharing info and experiences on our builds. He called me on the phone before he even got out of the car when he cracked that 7 second barrier he was so excited. When the time and effort that it takes to build something like this is not appreciated, it’s like…. What are you even doing here? 😡

Btw…. There may be a few who will remember the Woodward street event about three years ago when the new Redeye blew up the engine doing a burnout in front of the crowd and just about burned down. That was this car. It was a mess and it was rebuilt. It’s been a steady progress since then. The guy is dedicated! 👍🏼
