It was a great day being at the track. Temps in the 60's and low humidity and clear skies. Tomorrow should be more of the same. I wrote my JLT findings in the testing thread but I did get new best times in worst DA so I would say the 3.09's are faster and I was 15-25 lbs lighter then last fall. Ended the day with a 10.61@130 in 900DA. Made 8 passes. Only time I was waiting in the lanes was when were were waiting to start. I was hoping to start by 9:30 but wasn't until 11. There were a couple of black super stocks there but both were spinning running low 11's. One did run a 10.9. I told them to easy into the gas and they would be faster but I didn't see either make a clean pass. I will be there tomorrow so may talk to them some more. The black Hemi Cuda went 9.63@145. The vette and camaro went in the 9.5's. Some pics from the day. I will say Gold Rush does look good in person

Maybe ask them about their air pressure. I get that the nitto isn’t as good as the et street r but I’d think they should be getting better traction.

Maybe ask them about their air pressure. I get that the nitto isn’t as good as the et street r but I’d think they should be getting better traction.
Both had 30+ in them. One of them asked to borrow air pressure gauge and he went down to 20psi. Next race they ran 11.05 to 11.06 so it didn't matter. Both spin some and went. Every pass was like that.

Hate to say it but maybe they should try launch control.
it may help them if they can’t get it off the foot brake control.

DA at 10am looks to be around 300 and will get up past 1100 today. May be able to get a new best if the DA is lower and they get running earlier then yesterday. Would love to get into the 50's

They started running just after 10. I waited for the lanes to empty cause I wanted back to back passes. 10:40am ran 10.65@130 in the left lane but when I came around there was a car and he was in the right so ran the left again 10.60@131 went around again and got the right for another 10.60@131. DA was 870. I had no idea it ran the 10.60 second pass. So close to a 50! The ink must have been low because I couldn't read the slip while driving back up. 60 ft were 1.54, 55, 56.
I had to run a ZL1 that was modded for our best 2 out of 3 heads up race. DA was up to 1400 and I ran a 10.73 to her 11.33 and another 10.73 to her 12.4. ZL1 was a stick and she wasn't hitting all gears every time. My last pass I had a .090 light on a pro tree!

@vortecd Thanks for the photos! I know some of those guys. Bob K (Mr 6Pak) is a real icon among the 440-6 aficionados. He is the original owner and a super nice guy. He has been racing that car for 50 years! I consulted with him on my last build and he spent more than an hour on the phone with me a couple of evenings. I wonder if the Hemi Cuda is a new car for Dave Dudek? Another nice guy. He’s the only one I know that can build a 9 second FAST Hemi car but he always ran a black RoadRunner? I hate seeing the Chevy’s going faster. Those FAST guys travel all over looking for good DA’s and just race for fun.

Yes that was Dave in that car, his wife’s car is the gold rush one.

Didn't Dave race a purple 70 Challenger before the black RoadRunner?

Didn't Dave race a purple 70 Challenger before the black RoadRunner?
I think Bob Karakashian has a purple Hemi Challenger and races it sometimes in factory stock?

I am sure I have an old magazine from the early days of pure stock or fast with Dave D
In a purple hemi Challenger.
Bob K has or had a red Hemi CUDA, no?

I thought Bob k’s was Plum crazy. Dave Dudek must have a lot of cars. He is some kind of good mechanic! I watched him fix a rod or main bearing working on his back at a FAST race in Maryland a few years ago...and then run in the 9’s with his RRunner!

I think you are correct in that Bob now has a purple challenger. Maybe Dave's old car?
Bob has a red or orange. 70? CUDA Hemi.
I have seen that on American muscle car show. Or whatever it was called. Back in the same era as that article 2006/2008.

I guess this group is a bit like the vintage Trans Am guys. The cars move around the same groups often.
