I don't insure with Farmers but I did get a letter from them indicating that as both cars are over 700hp Farmers is unable to insure them. This is all part of the EV BS plan.

Uh oh...I wonder if there is more of this to come? There's a lot of cars out there nowadays with big numbers though, this would affect a lot of people.

buy a junked scat pack
swap VINs

Also, not sure it has to do with the EV plan. Lots of EV's in the pipeline with well over 1000hp.
Dodge, Maserati, Tesla, Lucid Air, Hummer EV1

Even the Rivian has 800+ hp.

Are all these cars going to be denied Farmers insurance as well?

I have good luck with Grundy. Your overall plan does have to be at least 100k or 150k of total vehicle value insured. I don't remember. All I remember when they told me that I said to myself I may have a vehicle problem :D

There are EV's over a 1000 hp though so I guess they can't insure those either

Farmers as a rule don't move very fast

Better make a phone call and ask. This change is recent.

They insured me for the month of May and my yearly renewal was June 6th so I believe I am good. I am buddies with my insurance agent so I am sure he will give me a call or text if something comes up

We are both in Tennessee so I am not sure why they wouldn't insure you

Maybe Farmers in Arizona won't cover 700+ cars but they would in Tennessee. I know insurance is different in Florida for cars, home and health than it is here in Tennessee. It was better in some ways in Florida and worse in others.

Where you live plays a big role. I live outside the big cities and was told mine would be cheaper if I lived in a big city. I have more of a chance of hitting a deer, but less chance of hitting another car:unsure:

I'm currently with Haggerty, actually just about to renew, for my 21 HCWBRE. They are 817/yr.

I'll have to look into Grundy before I renew to see the coverage difference.

Thar sounds backwards. People on the east side pay way way more than we do in insurance. I can't remember all of the reasons but one reason was vehicle theft.
