I been searching all day and cannot find any definitive answer. I even sent an inquiry to the mfr and have not received a reply.

Has anyone experienced a problem?

Nothing...if it's especially designed for gas/diesel...nothing will happen....I would prefer it over a metal container

I run e85 all summer but put 93 in it in the winter. With the fuel rails I have I drain the tank and switch it out. I was going to go get some e85 but had nearly 5 gallons that has been sitting in my garage all winter from draining the tank. I checked it and was e80. I know when I parked the car e75 was at the stations but our last track outing I had more then e85 in it with some race e85. So not sure why it was e80 but threw it in the car. Went to the station and it is e75 right now but added another 10 gallons

Regular gas I don't like storing in plastic. I had bought some 118 octane that was in 5 gallon pails and blew a head gaskets with it. I got some more of the same stuff that was in a drum and had no issue so I believe in the plastic it lost some octane. This was many years ago on a different car

I'm not fully following what you're saying.

Did the storage result in E85 becoming E80? E75? Or E75 becoming E80?

This is what I am wondering, is the ethanol permeating into the poly?

How long was it in the container?

Thanks.

I get 40gal at a time for my car. I use the tractor supply 5.5 gal jugs. They are white and I keep them in my garage. Fuel tests at e85-e90 at the station i use in FL. I have never had an issue with storage.

I had some higher e85 mixed in e95 for the track but thought I had ran it out but maybe not so e75 mixed with it. So could be from that but not sure. It came out of my car in November and set in garage all winter

They have been putting fuels (all types ) in plastic containers for decades,,,I've never heard of ANY issues...no recalls...no bans..nothing...on the scale from 1 to 200 things you should be concerned about....this shouldn't be on the list

I use a combination of plastic and metal cans and never had a problem even with fuel that’s been in them for two years. I use Lukas E 85 fuel stabilizer when I put it in the jugs.
