"the new pledge will offer the latest glimpse at the profound changes that Biden wants to set in motion, from decarbonizing the country’s energy sector to phasing out gasoline-powered vehicles. "

It's not like biden will be alive in 2030, so who cares what he says. Creepy old joe should not be planning anything out further than 15 days ahead, and that is written down. 15 seconds if going on memory alone.

He might be dead by 2030 (along with half the members on these boards, lol!) but in 2021 he has the power to enact things into motion. No one wants to lose HP ICE but whether us grumpy ostriches like it or not the petrol-dominated era is as good as gone!

In the mean time, I’ll enjoy driving my Hellcat and making fun of the demented corporate/global governance puppet.

In Michigan consumers energy is raising rates 50 percent from 2pm to 7pm. This is because they cannot handle the load during that time. So what is going to happen when we start adding charging cars?

It’s a supply and demand issue Wheeler said

They are using more coercion and slamming more control upon you because they know we are fucked. Without more energy storage (without batteries) and/or additional INSTANT generation (more hydro), there simply is not enough power after the sun sets. It gets way worse when the wind is not blowing either. Ask them in Texas how that worked when it got cold and it froze their windmills not equipped for freezing temps.

I have said it a million times in the last few years. If we want a renewable resource why don’t we focus more on having cars run on corn 🤷

Hydrogen combustion is the answer to emissions concerns. Hydrogen is extracted from water, which means there's little to no profit in it. Not unless they produce a regulated proprietary conversion system.

Story I read it just said supply in demand so they wanted to charge more. Also stated if you didn't change your habits, your bill could be $2 more a month:LOL:

Actually, there can be profit from it, depending on how you look at it. Purification of the water is generally required, then a source of massive amounts of electricity (I am most familiar with the nuclear power plant of submarines in this context but electricity is electricity), and then the infrastructure for effective storage, transportation and utilization. Straight hydrogen does things to rubber seals and the like that wouldn't be believed, so it is generally more difficult than other fuels to handle / manage. All of that infrastructure and dispensing equipment will cost money.

Also, it should be noted, China is forging ahead in this field and, if we want to be a leader in the field, we need to get our collective heads out of our asses.

Actually, no. Hydrogen is no more dangerous than gasoline. If you're thinking of the Hindenburg disaster, it was the oxide and aluminum paint that caused it burn so quickly.
