Hey guys, quick tip. I had some aluminum polish laying around so decided to try using it on my ac lines. WOW,what a difference. Just use a rag and polish by hand. They polish up quick and makes a huge difference. Took about 10 minutes. Pics don't do it justice but thought I would share. IMG_20210317_143637506.jpg IMG_20210317_143646341.jpg

He used polishing compound, not a die-grinder.

How thick do you think they are? I promise you they're thinner than you think they are.

You guys go ahead and LOL, if the OP polishes his lines once a month the following year he's going start a thread wondering why his air conditioner is not as cool as it used to be.

You guys disregard what I said, you think it's a joke anyway.

Wall thickness is probably close to 0.100 inches.

Hand polishing for a few seconds might remove 1 or 2 microns (the first time) which is 0.00004 - 0.00008 inches

He'd have to polish A LOT before it became an issue.

.100 / .00008 = 1250 polishes (although I'm sure the line would leak before 1250)

I like to keep my car super clean too, inside and out. Every 6 months I drain the differential fluid from the rear end and wash it in Dawn dishwashing soap. Afterwards I pour the now clean differential grease back into the rear end. This way the inside of the differential housing stays spotless!!

The AC lines are way thicker than paint. I have done a lot of rubbing on paint and it's still there.

The viscosity of Dawn blue,,,is equivalent to differential oil...just vent the rear end...and the rear end will be spotless...and wait till you see the bubbles you'll make over 60:oops:

When somebody says "probably" or "I think" this means they're talking out their ass.

I'm pretty sure you got that information to do that on this forum by the same people above. Yeah keep it up, I'm sure you and they will have a clean differential. Personally I like mine dirty.

Sure. Certainly the 'burning through an AC hardline in a year' with a few seconds of monthly hand polishing comment was borne of careful scientific research and observation.
