Rear Diff and Transmission oil change

Yes, for sure. I'm out of warranty now...probably should stick with what is working?

Amsoil Severe Gear worked great for me. No fussing with friction modifier and the squeeze bags it comes in makes it super easy to put it in.

Regarding rear diff fluid...run 75w-85 or seeing some say 75w-90? What do you all think? Appreciate it.

Probably will not matter at all; I use RedLine 75W-85.

There's usually not enough of it is my main complaint.

Either way, Amsoil is better. Have solved a couple of problematic diffs using it.

Had a negative experience with Amsoil in motorcycles a few years ago....not a fan

I actually run Motul Gear Comp 75-140...but I dog the hell out of mine at the track and have a 1pc aluminum tuning fork...I mean driveshaft...

...tranny was more expensive as it is sealed with a removable panel/cover that has the filter built into it that they replace when they do this...

Most 8HP have a Filtran (filter built into pan) but the hellcat specific 8HP90's do NOT. you CAN get a service kit that includes a new filter, gasket, fill/drain plug (forget which or if it's both) and all new pan bolts. I have one in my garage and can grab the part number tomorrow...

I agree that sometimes you are lucky enough to find a solution that is a simple as changing fluid. My '04 Wrangler had valve tick, common problem due to #6 lifters getting gunked up. Took me 16 years to find that synthetic solved the prob.

That was the first time I ever witnessed a difference between conventional and syn, now I'm a fanatic!

No way I could drink any since there's normally not enough in the diffs for any to come out when removing the level plugs.

Guess I could have a gulp or two when draining the OE fluid at 500 to 1,000 miles, but I'd rather drink the clean Amsoil. It should go down easier.

There's your A8 trans service package for Hellcat 8HP90's - includes BOTH plugs, pan bolts, new gasket and fresh filter.

I haven't searched for a while so I do not know if that part number has been superseded. Looking into that now.
