Sport bikes are so much fun but there is plenty of potential for such crashing when you’re on the street. Beautifully scenic ride for sure. I bet if we were in out there in our HC’s we’d be hammering it down like that, well almost like that, as well. Good old time that just got out of hand. Imho the driver of the car shares plenty of blame too although the law wont see it that way. I sure do miss riding. As much fun as our cars are they’re not sport bike fun.

Grew up on both. And into my 40s till the back could not take the chopper hard tails any longer. They both share the responsibility. Idiots. Like me driving a C- 5 and 6 with 4 herinated back discs. Dumb. Fall in but can't fall out.

Seemed to me she pulled to her right in her panic not leaving him much option. Had she continued on her line he thought he could have made the illegal pass on the right.

Don't know if the car went to the right on purpose or was just looking and went that way but either way if you are going to pass a car in the same lane they are in. it is what it is

or did she see the other guy on her left an moved for him, either way those guys are the reason I pay a lot for motorcycle insurance.

Two reasonable assumptions for certain.

Ride like an ahole and shit happens. Guy has no business on that road passing a car on the right at that speed. If he thinks he’s all that and a bag of chips take it to the track.

When a bike or car comes up on you that fast, your lucky to see them at all when they go by so if your doing that fast of riding on curvey hilly roads, it's just a matter of time that your gonna be in a crash, so don't blame the other guy for their actions whether they went the right way or not. Take responsibility for your own actions & or death.

This is why I don't own one.
Very easy to get into a lot of trouble with one.

Took a Kawasaki 750 up to 90-100 in a blink of an eye and almost had to lay it down for someone pulling out of an alley.

Very fun, but i know id be a jackass on it. So i don't own them

100% the biker’s fault.
That lane is for a single car. That car can operate anywhere within that lane at any time.
If it was another bike, I’d still blame the (skilled) idiot. You don’t ride next to, let alone fly up on, unsuspecting operators unless you want to cash that check.

This wasn’t lane splitting or lane sharing or anything that has a grey area. This was him trying to pass on the right (illegal) (and stupid).

I think he tried passing in the right out of desperation, especially on that left hand sweeper with all the crap that gets tossed to the outside of the lane. He knew it was either that or run into the rear of the car, he knew there was any way he was going to be able to get across the lane to make the pass on the left. Sure he was riding like an ass, but he was fine up until then.

It's always fine until it's not.
Speed + timing, can be a bitch if the 2 don't match up.

If you drive it correctly and don't act like an ass when other vehicles are around you’ll be ok. There's times when you can get on it safely & times when you should not get on.

Ridden street bikes since I was 16, owned a few sport bikes, and many other bikes to. Currently have an R1, been known to do dumb things on it, including almost running into a piece of farm equipment last year, when i came over the crest of a blind hill doing about 180 mph, to his 5 mph.
As a rider who has done enough stupid stuff the past 28 years on street bikes ( I'm now 44 ) that was in NO WAY the cars fault, and completely rider stupidity. So for the guy who wants to blame the car driver, maybe read a book on rules of the road, and then watch the video again. He is lucky to have only minor injuries.
