Outside of the Challengers which I've LOVED I normally keep a car 5 years. I'm not sure how long I'll keep the Z06, right now I love it but I did just get it so the new hasn't worn off yet. We'll see in 6 months.
I'm over dumping a lot of money in to cars, been there, done that, got the t-shirt. Even with the Hellcat I started bargain hunting and picked up a lot of my upgrades from forum members selling parts or returning to stock. Luckily the 170 needs like nothing, it's fast as hell already. I had to get street wheels and tires which was a bummer, but is what it is, and I did PPF in some strategic places, but got a buddy buddy deal from my local guy. I didn't do the whole hood, just the front bumper, and about a foot up the hood. Yes you can see a line if you look close, but better than spending an extra $2K to do the whole front for me.
On the Z06 I paid attention to where all the bugs were after the 7 hour drive home, about 2 hours of that in the dark. They were almost all just on the front bumper, the hood is super flat, so I'm just doing PPF on the bumper, mirrors, and maybe a-pillars and front of the roof if it's cheap.
I didn't have PPF on my 2009 Challenger and had to spend a couple hours each year with touch up paint, small brushes, tooth picks, etc to touch it up. That's no bueno.
Shopping for used cars the past 6 mos, both 911 and Z06 any of that stuff added zero value in terms of asking price. It was worth a little to me, but not a ton. I do wish this one had PPF already though and would've paid a little more if it had, but less than $1000.
Did the first mod last night. Picked up some aluminum lift point pucks in anodized red and bolted them under the car in the lift locations, they were on Prime Day for $20, and picked up a car cover. I'd like to do a red intake if I can find a deal on one, but that'll be down the road. I looked in to some extended rock guards, but the Z06 tax is real. They were over $600! Forget that.
First oil change I'll detail under the car, it's all flat panels so should be quick and easy and satisfy my OCD.
