Anyone put a 'chute on a Challenger? Looking for the best low budget parts, how-to and where to get.

If you do a bolt together kit that you buy from motion you will most likely have to go right through the middle of the plate and you are mounting to the stock bumper. This you have to trim the bottom of the plate put you can 100 percent leave the plate in tact and just cover the hole with a license plate cover frame.

Thanks Jon.

I hope to not remove the rear fascia, it is almost impossible without breaking the tabs.

This is looking like too big of a project to do in one month (for me) so I plan to go chuteless and beg for an exception in Sept. My excuse will be that my speed limiter caps me at 204. I'll take the winter to plan it all out and get it right. (And cheap!!!) It will also give me a chance to look at what the really fast guys have and understand better.

Please keep the suggestions coming, I greatly appreciate the help.

Back when I had the single chute done, it was simply bolted to the crash bumper using a plate with four bolts. At the time the shop that did it (SpeedTech) told me that a Chromoly tubing replacement for that bumper would not be any stronger than the extruded aluminum bar. Lighter but not stronger. I have deleted most of those old pictures but I do have one that shows where the chute attachment bar comes out thru the cover under the plate with that setup. I deployed at over 180 mph on a half mile no issues. IMG_8041.jpeg IMG_9980.jpeg IMG_8893.jpeg

It’s all about saving the brakes. If you’re running something that requires a chute to keep you from running off into the weeds (or a safety net 😳) You need more brakes.
