I wouldn't say that they're a hot climate only tire, having enjoyed Indy 500s for years here in the hills.
That's with an average of 75 in the hottest months and the lows are only above freezing for five months, which means that I generally start my drives at 30-40 degrees.
I put 305 Indys on the M6 because the PS4S was unavailable for many months. I have the 305 PS4S on the RE. I have to say, the Indy's are very good and a good value.
I sold the M6 and considering replacing the Indy's with 555r2's and using them on the RES2.
I bought a set of 20" wheels for the 170, put 315 555r2's on the back. I ordered a pair of these for the front, used tires cost more than these, figured it's worth a try:
I was considering G2's for the fronts but couldn't justify the extra $370 for front tires on a straight line car, which is why I'm trying the cheapos that are highly rated.
I have the 555r2's on the back. Or I will, once it gets a couple deg warmer!
I had both 555G2 & NT05 on the back of the SS and at 80 could break them loose easily. I do believe that car tuned by Jon was quick real quick. I have Michelin all the way now but weather hasn’t been good enough for a ride.
