Hello everyone,
Anyone do the 3rd row delete kit? Removing the 3rd row seats and installing the floor storage boxes? When you have a Hellcat , this is or was an option, I don't know if it was an option on the SRT models. I think the Police vehicles have them as well.

Anyway, anyone do it?

A lot of ppl have tried & some even made cargo boxes to solve the issue. Problem is there's more to it than yanking the seats & dropping in the boxes. Those inside trim panels are also different & need to be swapped out & that ends up being very costly.

The pursuit spec'd versions come in the 5 seat config, but typically you cannot order one unless you have a contact at a dealership.

It was possible to order the 3rd row delete version in a base Durango, but it could not be ordered with the tow pkg , the 2rd row bench became mandatory & as I recall was limited to the cheaper black leather material. For '26 the Hellcat versions come std with the 5 seat config & you can get the Laguna leather (in the Jailbreak ver.).

Not a lot were ordered 3rd row delete, so they are very hard to find used.

I have a kit in the garage, I plan to install it in the 170 when I get around to it. Local lady did the same, she did not mention any probs. If I understand correctly, the kit provides plugs for the seat belt slots. I haven't opened the box yet. Summit has the best price. I considered the cheap generic but decided on OEM.

Well the 3rd row, why gets used never weighs in at 78 lbs. So that would be gone. Now you would have to account for the storage box kit and side panels. Not sure how much the entire kits weighs in at but when you order it from Dodge on a new build, it's called a lightweight kit 3rd row delete. So It's gotta weigh enough less to earn such a name.

The 392 is limited in MOD's that retain your factory warranty. In order for me to beat my best time at the track, 12.4 @ 109 MPH , I need to lose some weight. Yes that include me to LOL.

Bunch you could do but it will start to rattle, make noise vibration harshness and turn into a race car before you know it.

Some people strip them and send it. I.wouldnt ever do that again.

Not sure 100lbs be worth it for all the hassle it seems.

I hear yeah. I don't use the 3rd row and I think the storage boxes could be useful. I have seen them in Durango's and always wanted one equipped that way. Being lighter is just a benefit on a pretty heavy vehicle.

I was also thinking of looking at the suspension to see if there is any higher quality lighter weight options.
Then there is wheels and tires, I already have lighter tires but still stock wheels. If I could find a wheel that is lighter, looks mild and kinda stock ish , I would also do that.
