My 170 had some service back in October at the local dealer. I guess the service advisor didn't actually look at the mileage on the car which was 37XX and instead just looked at it being a 2023 model car and ass|u|me it had over 27,XXX on it so that's what they put in the system. Well now that has updated to the Dodge app and portal and I bet CarFax as well.

I've called 3 times now asking for it to be corrected and so far crickets. Is there another way to fix this?

Wow, that's strange!

I wonder if another service call and the updated mileage that goes with it will over-write the previously entered mileage?

I don't think it over writes an existing entry but I bet will throw a "mileage inconsistency" flag in CarFax.

It will be an interesting “test” of both systems @Speedy! If the crickets continue to chirp I am sure you and others will be entering the correct mileage honestly and then let’s watch what happens.

This sounds like it has the making of a REAL pita...or maybe something very simple..but it's gonna take some leg work...years ago I bought a 500SL from a woman that got 5 cars in a divorce settlement...the car was 8 yrs old with 2500 miles...the attorneys that handled the divorce didn't due his diligence and listed the mileage as 50,000 miles...(he did the same thing for all the cars in the settlement too lazy to verify actual mileage...) I never noticed it till I registered the car in NYS and got a title with 50k on it...I had to petition the state with service records..annual inspection mileage from NYS...the works...90 days later I get a new title..which states TMU...(true mileage unknown)...WTF...It took the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles to intercede..(a friend of a friend)...took anothe 4 months to finally get a correct title....moral of the story...don't let this languish..it could turn into a big deal

Do you have Mopar login? I just peaked at mine online and it shows real time mileage of all 3 of my Dodges. Would be interesting to see what yours shows.

That happened to me on my 2013 Charger Daytona. It straightened out on my next oil change service. I don’t know about Carfax but I wasn’t worried about that.

You have a uconnect subscription or anything or is it just getting the mileage without a subscription?

I don't have a uconnect subscription and when I looked at mopar online my mileage is off quite a bit.

Wondering if that mileage was from my last service appointment?

I do not have any kind of paid subscription. Just the dodge app on my phone and a Dodge/Mopar website login that gives me all info on the Dodges I own.

The car's mileage in the app and website are correct, it's just a "service entry" that has the incorrect mileage.

I was made aware of a discrepancy when trading in a '19 Durango a few months ago. Apparently the system had brought up an "inconsistency", which worried the dealer.

I was easy enough to figure out once they told me what the numbers were. Apparently, during some service before I bought the car, two digits had been transposed. Then at the next service the correct mileage was entered.

The dealer realized what had happened, and it made no difference to me at that point, but I could ask if/how they cleared it up.

Also, I routinely have to correct the mileage on the Carfax reports I get since my vehicles don't get driven nearly as much as average.
