I have been doing searches on what was the best top speed of a HC in stock configuration with Factory Authorized DC Stage 2, but have not found very much.

I am wondering how my recent 204.980 rates compared to others in unmodified config (other than DCS2).

Anyone have any ideas on how to find who has gone faster?

I expect people have, I just have not found any on line. Advice appreciated.

Thanks!

I have heard from the owner of the 211mph 2018 Demon, "Hellcamac2015" in the "other" forum. He says he only changed the front and rear tires, and used the Demon Race PCU to achieve 211. It was on a slightly longer runway. I requested his speed at 1mi and 1.5mi and waiting for the reply.

My .02

While I like/respect the question, it really is a can of worms.

There, at one point, were even arguments between sanctioning bodies about the legitimacy of timing methods between each other.

My further .02 is that about the only comparable speeds are at the same event, on the same year, even date.

Even ignoring different timing methods (trap average based on WHICH light positions - there are at least THREE variations), distance determination methods, starting tree allowances, etc etc etc

Weather (hewuge differences in DA, even morning to mid-afternoon), tail/head wind, which make also a hewuge difference in trap

If you want to compare full MPH numbers, or even comparing 205 vs 210, thats reasonable in my mind, but comparing 205.01 vs 205.99...

Don't burn the calories...

Hey Bull, we all know that almost everything posted on the internet is BS. We watch infinite videos showing the best of something but under unknown conditions, circumstances, supervision and affiliation…

The owner of the yellow 2018 Demon that did 211 on youtube recently posted that his 1mi speed was 180 and he did not have the 1.5mi speed.

I believe I might have the record for the 1mi, 1.5mi, and 2km (for our metric friends). I don't intend to make unsubstantiated claims but my speeds are documented, and I spent many hours searching and posting looking/asking for faster speeds and have found/heard nothing.

Please, if anyone finds anything please post it.

Bonneville and Loring are the big guys in Land Speed, so I believe the timing is beyond reproach.

Let me know if you have doubts and I will attempt to provide substantiation to alleviate.

Thanks for keeping everyone on their toes!

Just, and only just, a couple of questions...

Where were their timing trap lights located relative to the 1mile mark?

Before and at?
Before and after?
At and after?

Spacing?

How was 1mile distance determined?

How strictly was the start controlled?

These are some of the debates I've seen, not everyone does this the same.

Not meant as anything but food for thought

You could be the only one with the DC 2 doing that

@2ndAmend All you need to do is claim the record on here and there.

2 things will happen 1 if someone has beat it, they will come out of the woodwork and let you know.

Or you will have people challenge you, after all, records are made to be broken ;)

What, if any, DA correction factor do we get to use?
