Glad to hear it @BULL that's the goal to make everyone feel right at home. It's a great group of people that show up each year.

I finished cleaning mine up yesterday. Next up is to ceramic coat the wheel well liners to make all that rubber easier to get off. I had to use a paint stick to scrape it out this time LOL. Guess that parking lot burnout was longer than I thought.

Not sure if you picked up on it or not, but the guy who basically came up with the Direct Connection program was having drinks with us on the back of Sam's white Ram

There's a long story that has long since become not true anymore as to why I intentionally didn’t rotate these tires.

In hind sight, it was stupid

Do it for the sake of science. Then you'll know and will have found some answers to your questions. Just keep in mind what works or doesn't work for you might not apply to someone else because conditions and circumstances rarely are the same.

Had a blast as usual at ChallengerFest. Hit up the private rental Saturday morning to try my luck with my big boy E85 tune up. This rental was race tires only and great prep which is not typical on the standard TNT days. My worn out 305/45R17s did just fine, no spin, so my previous traction issues are prep related. Now I gotta decide if I wanna give the 315/50R17 a go or get the 305/45R17 again. I'm afraid the bigger tire will be a wash and won't gain me anything when prep is good and I can just pull a little power when prep isn't good with the 305s. I'm already well in the 10.00 range I race in so the rest is gravy. Will probably pull the trigger on something next week.

I would love to run at DAs of 2700 feet. The lowest I have seen at my track is 4100 feet. Lighten the car a little, get some track prep., replace my worn-out stock supercharger and I can maybe sneak in an 8.99 with a 1.3 60 foot time. At 4100 feet I get high 1.3s for my 60 foot launching at idle with a stepped-in full-throttle approach. My tuner is just the balm that I am keeping confidential but is helping me with my 60-foot times. Time however is running out on me as I am getting older. Challenger Fest does look fun. That would be a heck of a long road trip!

Well the decision got made for me on the tires. 315/50R17 are unobtanium and sounds like 3 month back order. 305/45R17 2 month back order as well but my local Discount Tire found a set at a DT in Texas so I snatched them up. I gotta have something or no racing and I don't trust back order dates.

Well @vortecd and I werent able to go tonight or tomorrow for tires. Only time was friday afternoon so our testing is getting pushed back from Friday to either Saturday or Wednesday. Prolly not saturday because it is more focused on snowmobiles.
I ordered a set of 315s last week of april and still waiting. Lucky friday I'll be getting a used set and vortecd found a never used set.

From another post you said you were done racing this summer so you had time. Unless the 305 suddenly disappeared I was seeing plenty for sale

You want to know why you cannot find anything. When I resently bought the Kirkey 17" wide aluminum Drag seat 55170, Summit told me they had 491 in stock. Thats 4 9 1.

With the shortage I'm not trusting "online" inventory. I wanted to know I can go right down the street and get them and I got them for way cheaper than $383 as well. I got a hookup at DT. My DT guy called several places and MT direct and was told 3 mos for 315s and 2 mos for 305s backorder. I trust what he's telling me. I've been screwed by BO dates plenty.

I can assure you they had the them Drag racing wheels inventory is up to date and they had 17.
