I have memories of my uncle racing one way back in the day on a dirt circle track somewhere in New Hampshire. I remember them talking about the torque that they made.
Looking back on it now, I'm sure it was all relative. But with that all said, I still don't want them compared to a blown V8.
No comparison to a blown V8 but once the I6 is proven I would choose it over a 5.7. I know hearsay.
The problem is the Hemi is ancient and extremely heavy with the iron block. The HO I6 makes almost 200hp more stock than the 5.7 and it will be simple to add another 100hp on top of that. That’s also taking a lot of weight off the front end which is better for everything.
Unfortunately they need to work on the sound of it. The B58 sounds good so Dodge can do the same.
They want a 6 cylinder bring back the slant 6 you couldn’t destroy those engines.
Woohoo 180hp of fury. Times have moved on and gotten way better. The I6 in the BMW is credited with improving the reliability rating of the entire BMW brand so it’s possible. With that said I wouldn’t buy one in the first two years.
