What would solve a lot of this type of thing is if the plaintiff was forced to pay all the fees of the defendant if the law suit was found frivolous.

If I understood correctly, it was a class action suit which means it was brought by attys seeking clients, and the system allows them to represent all clients who do not explicitly op out. Therefore, it is the attys that should pay if found frivolous!

Probably regretting their 92 month $5k payment. The plaintiffs gets money, and the lawyers. Class action suits are garbage. You’ll have maybe 3 plaintiffs in this case. Everyone else will get $30, or a set of street tires, flash, and sign a waiver. I could see dodge offering that, maybe.

I don't think many 170's are financed to that degree...if @ all

Loser pays all legal fees. Would correct a lot of the problems with the legal system immediately.

I guess that's true...I was raised with the mindset...if you don't have the money ...you don't buy it..and you can never borrow your way to prosperity....sage advice from my immigrant grandfather who came to this country @ the age of 13 with nothing...and died a very wealthy man...

You can borrow your way to prosperity. Big diff between good debt and bad debt. I've seen ppl so scared of debt, that they miss big opportunities. Everybody's different that way .............

We all incur debt of some kind.be it personal..or in business...it's the way of the world...I became debt free 12 yrs. ago...both professionally...and on a personal level...can't tell you what a great feeling that is...my grandfathers advice was more philosophical in nature to a healthy fiscal outlook on life

I was debt free at 34 with a house & a separate lot I just purchased 6 months prior for our growing family

Wife left
Took 2 kids with her & a lot more
I took out a mortgage that was worth more then I paid for the house to get rid of her & avoid spousal support & daycare payments
I also paid for my lot again
That got me down to child support only plus all expenses for the kids

Lost my job 6 months later due to bankruptcy
Lost my truck /gas / insurance with it
I kept up my payments to her for my kids & went in debt daily
Fun times

Oh man...that's tough...just when you had things dialed in ...(I've had friends in the same predicament )..one of my friends got dinged so bad in the divorce..had to move back home with his mother @ 52...
