Those times are on the slow side for a DA of 400 for Ron's Demon (first pass of a 9.30). I ran a 9.33 launching from 2nd gear in my demon, completely stock at a higher DA. Maybe I am missing something.

I wasn't interested in Corvette at all until the engine went in the back. Z06 ticked all the boxes for me. If you've not heard one above 6,000 rpm....oh my.

May have to ride in one just to ride in one. Rear engine does nothing for me. My friend Tim bought a lambo back in 2012 or so and I rode in that. Lots of engine nosie I wouldn't want everyday

Best way I can describe the C8 rear engine config....

Driving the Hellcat/Demon is like sitting on top of a shoe box. You feel when it turns.

Driving the C8 Z06 is like being inside at the very center of a sphere and when you turn it turns around you.

I haven t been a fan of the Vette for many years but the C8 is a sweet car

I enjoy both in different ways

Long ago someone asked a Chev engineer about the Grand National being faster than the Vette, the engineer replied something like "they needed to race a little farther".

At Land Speed Trials, the C8's have trouble getting past the 160's in the 1.5mi. One guy hit 183 with a huge tailwind last year. A 2015 stock HC did 190+, a stock 2022 REWB did 193+. My RES2 did 204+.

What fast is depends on how you define fast.

And if you want to compare the ZR1X, consider all these cars are less than 1/2 the cost, and probably closer to 1/4 the cost in the case of the 2015 HC.

And since we are considering EV's, don't forget the Plaid is almost as fast as the ZR1X at half the price, and it has room for luggage, the dog and kids!

The Vette has it's niche, no questioning that, but it is a very small niche with very little utility. I moved away from Vettes when I got the dog.

It seems like every time a C8 does something better than a HC, it is because the C8 is a better car, no matter how few are made or how much it costs, even if it is over $225k.

But whenever a HC does something better than a C8, there is some "reason" that it doesn't apply, or it's not fair, or it's a different class, or something else.

Rodney Dangerfield was one of the funniest guys but he was the guy that never got any respect! Maybe the HC is the Rodney of cars?!?!?

All due respect, the specs on the ZR1 are impressive, but who here drives around town in a $225k car every day? I live in fear just driving the RE around, waiting for the next ahole to cut in front of me, which happens about once/hr. They don't do that in my truck!

Im not sure what you mean other than Dodge people comparing C8 and Dodge anything. When I looked a few days ago the C8 crowd aren't even acknowledging the ZR1x raced the 170 much less beat it. They're more interested in Nurbeurgring times against Porsche.
