I am against idiotic pursuits... but then we embolden the hard core criminals if they know if they go fast enough they can truly get away. We have to have logical pursuit rules, and enforce them. Or employ surveillance state tactics. Such as, tag every parolee with an implanted RFID chip? Anytime its pinged by a reader it gives ID and location data. RFID is short range, but in this case, pop them with a reader from the pursuing car, a helo, or a drone and then back off. Or what, RFID encoded chips and receivers in cars, that when they are pinged by police limit the vehicle to 20 mph and activate GPS homing/tracking for the car?
