Just watch that Tremic DTC learn how to keep putting power down, it’s like a terminator, it’s learning how to kill better and better with each pass. The A8 may be a good tranny but DCT’s are going to be the next ruler of the streets. But they should keep a clutch pedal and a real shifter for true manual mode and a full auto in kill mode. The best of both worlds could be had with this transmission IF they wanted too

I still have my reservations about the DCT reliability at those power levels ... time will tell :cool:
I think they finally got it right with this DCT, and it’s going to take some punishment but like everything it will have a breaking point for sure, yes, only time will reveal where that is.

I think they finally got it right with this DCT, and it’s going to take some punishment but like everything it will have a breaking point for sure, yes, only time will reveal where that is.
Hot Rod mag had a full breakdown with pics this month. Of course it's the greatest tranny ever type thing but still very interesting. They didn't touch on any shortcomings.

Still nothing I’ve ever heard so far beats the sound of the A8 Whining and the IHI blower Screaming together in full acceleration mode

I’ve read allot on this new DCT, its impressive but what makes it work so well at being quick is it’s brains controlling it, it’s lightning fast at processing data input and making output changes in power management to keep at the hairy edge of traction limits on varying road surfaces. It’s going to be a mean street machine as well as on the track.

The Redeye is even better. On the track opinions are nearly unanimous, and that is with the stock intake.

Dodson is already working on upgraded clutch packs; just like they do for GTR's and Porsche's.

Every trans has its limits, we just don't know yet what those limits are on the GT500 trans. That being said, the Nissan GTR went through the same growing pains and now they're making over 2K HP. DCTs are the future however the downside to DCTs are that they're VERY expensive to rebuild and upgrade. At some point we'll see the limits of the DCT in the GT500 and then the aftermarket is going to have to step up to provide stronger parts for the DCT and then the GT500 will advance again.

So it's pullied, tuned, injectors, and on E85 with the latest greatest tech and it runs 9.70. You guys know I'm not a Mopar or no car kinda guy so this isn't coming from a Mopar fan boy. I'm just not that impressed. My gasoline powered Hellcat with pulley, injectors, and tune runs 9.80s.

The only real difference I see here is aftermarket support for the Mustang is much stronger so they got there sooner. Everything else is kinda been there done that isn't it?

Long term they'll likely get faster I'm sure, but until it's very low 9s high 8s with bolt ons I'll be over here a sleep, ya'll wake me when there's something to see LOL.
