All,

I've searched YouTube and found conflicting videos for install this cable. Do I really need to remove the center console for access? That seems a bit extreme.

Hp tuners one is just behind the radio. You do have to pop the Plastic off which is pretty large.

Do the Z automotive in the truck, I did that and extended the wiring. Works without tearing the dash apart.

Yeah. I've got one in the trunk. I used it to get the stock file but, data logging from there is a no go. I was concerned about extending wires but....

Here’s a good video showing how to remove the Challenger trim to get to the head unit.

I removed to replace touch screen, using plastic trim removal tools, but still ended up breaking the upper right side clip. Pretty sure that one was defective from the plant for me. But super glued it back and have no rattles.

Definitely would suggest plastic trim removal tools and just taking your time and be gentle with increasing pressure; no need to apply brute force all up front.

I've done 4 now between my 2 cars and 2 friends. Everything pops apart easy. I had the cable installed in my superstock in 20 minutes and back together.

OK, pretty cut and dry. Where do you connect the cable?

Oh, that I’m not sure of. Haven’t installed that part myself. I just replaced my touchscreen and thought this would aid in the trim removal process.

did your cable not come with instruction sheet? The one for Durango SRT did, and sounds like we got lucky as access can be had from passenger side, next to center stack, pretty easy install

I purchased it from a forum member NIB. There were no instructions. It appears the install is different between models.

This is what I've done also.

Bought a 15' USB 3C lightning cord and the Z Auto trunk OBDII relay, and snaked it through the rear seat delete like the other member shows above.

Had to buy a USB C to USB connector due to the age of my laptop, but no signal worries or delays in either logging or writing tunes.

Pulling the console apart?
Yes sir. I just remove the 2 ten mill bolts on lower rear of console and the small ones under shifter and slide it back to get my hand under the radio. I'm a technician for a living so I'm pretty fast but it really is a easy job.
