Need some opinions on selling my front brakes…

Marc, even with the condition of the calipers (which seems to be pretty standard on our cars), $750 is still a great deal

If you don’t want to mess with shipping the rotors, you could just sell the pads and calipers at that price and I’d think they’d go quick if you posted them somewhere.

Do the heat spots discolorations ever come out of the rotor? Like if someone would turn it or after a certain amount of normal use? I know some people won’t turn them because the slots might break the bit on the lathe ($$$$) but I’ve also spoken to other machine shops that will do it (I think at a very slow speed to prevent from breaking the bit).

I believe the hot spots will disappear in time with normal driving . Mine did anyway.

That could be. That was the thing with this car…. The only real use they got was hauling it down from speed at the track for a few seconds and that was it. They really didn’t get any normal daily use. I will see if giving them a clean-up turn would be worth doing to make them look nice.

Ok just a little info for all you ugly wrinkled caliper guys…. They cleaned up and the wrinkles were removed with some brake cleaner and a little rubbing. Look pretty good now.

$750 is a great deal. I just bought some new front calipers in December from EastCoast Moparts and they were just under $1400 w/shipping. If you would have had these for sale then, I would have snagged them in a heartbeat!

I’m going to be looking to pass along the front brakes off my ‘16 Challenger. They only have 2000 miles on them since new. They have experienced some heat a couple times on hauling it down from 180 mph on the half mile, but I was using a chute to help so overall they have not been abused. They’re coming off today and I will be able to get pictures of them off the car tomorrow. I’m looking for some thoughts on what I might expect to get for them. Any…. 🤔 View attachment 64271

Totally out of left field, but I'm glad to see an extinguisher in the shop at a readily accessible point. Seen lots that have them squirreled away somewhere hard go get to. They may never need them... but if they do...

We can count this as for sale. I want to avoid the hassle of shipping, so anything that avoids people wanting me to do that works for me. I’m not going to list them to the world as it would result in total pandemonium with begging and sniveling from cheapskates all over the country.
