Just watched the video, 8.67 at 159 is a crazy time for a production car, but the fact that it was printing 8.7x is nuts. just wish it was mechanical AWD.

This shit is getting serious

The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X Does 0-60 MPH in 1.68 Seconds
The quarter-mile run comes in 8.675 seconds at 159 mph, with the figures coming from testing on a prepped surface.
$250k?!?!??! Pass!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am too actually! It's why I waited and picked up a gently used C8 Z06 when prices cratered last summer.

In Canada eh
If you can find 1
315K base model
Asshole Government ( the last little Cuban idiot ) added 20% tax on luxury vehicles over 100K

So 315K is taxed at 215 X 1.2 = 258K
258K plus the original 100K not seeing the luxury tax = 358K
So once they add the tax they tax the tax
358K X 1.13 sales tax
404K

90K taxes

FM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After exchange rate and the taxes we have here, the base ZR1 is ~$12kUSD more in Canada than here at MSRP. Probably less than $20k different @MSRP for the ZR1x.
Where did Grok get it wrong, just curious. It’s usually wrong but I usually know why.

Hello Jack

I was pricing the ZR1X
The cheapest I seen was 315K for the base model
GM sites are all over 300k
Below is a sample

I think Grok s math is a bit off

My math for this is 309K
Not sure where the 280K comes from ????

@Bowtie Guy - Yeah, Grok wouldn't acknowledge the ZR1x so all of its calcs were base @ 240k CAD MSRP.

Honestly, I was trying to follow your math and couldn't.

Grok says luxury tax is 10% - discrepancy there.
300k base + 10% luxury = 330K.
330k + 13 HST = 372k CAD.

Right over the border in Buffalo -
It's the same base price when you use the exchange, so call it 300K CAD
+ 3484 CAD gas guzzler
+ 8.75% sales tax = 330k CAD + destination/registration (few hundred)

Looks like you're still paying 40k over us south of the border based on the same MSRP. Does that add up?

We always pay more :mad::mad::mad:

Here you go Jack
  • Calculation: The tax is the lesser of:
    • 10% of the total sale price, OR
    • 20% of the portion of the price above the threshold.

Doing the math it looks like 200K is the even point for the 2 taxes
Under 200K you would use 20% which I was hit with
Over 200K its 10% which I haven t met . too rich for me LOL

See if Grok uses 20% at 199K
