I figured the manual would catch some of them out. Surprised they left the stock clutch. Was that required?
I was wondering that. That’s the first thing I woulda left on the shop floor if I was doing one of the builds. I bet the Plymouth build got into that trans and did some shifting work in there also. Did you see the shifter on that car with the line lock or trans brake button. She probably wasn’t even using the clutch to shift that thing 🤫

Another thing……. 🥸. There’s no way that Plymouth was built form scratch in 30 days. As last year’s winner, they knew they would be returning and had that thing well in the works for who knows how long. All they had to do is drop in the crate motor and trans. Same with that Barracuda. That’s no 30 day build. That thing spent the last two weeks at SRT Autoworks in Phoenix (my old shop) in tuning and testing out at Wild Horse. Herman on the other hand….. that was a 30 day scramble to build that car with that body in white he had.

We put a Mantic clutch in Hermans car, in testing if he tried to powershift it, it would miss the 2-3 shift every time.

They all had shifting issues except Westen who had a fully built tremec and once you spend the 7-10k those shifting issues go away when power shifting the car.

I had that kind of shifting issue in the old car with a McLeod RXT. After the third time I had the trans out I sent it to McLeod and whoops they'd sent the wrong clutch. Throw out bearing wouldn't release it at high rpm. Worked fine cruising around. Very frustrating.

I've been noodling on how you spend $20k on a Tremec TR6060. I had one of the best you could get at the time RPM Level VI or whatever they called it with all the bells and whistles and I think MSRP on it was $6K. I know times have changed, but $20K?

we know the cost is 6-7k for the build of what he got that Gforce said was not available and some how he ended up with one. So he could have over paid for one from someone or Gforce at an inflated price plus shipping. Not on near the same level but there is a driveshaft company that you can pay an expedited fee and they will build a custom shaft to your specs in less that 48 hours and will over night it to you. It was almost the same cost as the driveshaft to be built.
