Had her diales in for 10.0 bracket racing. Felt comfortable tuning the transmission finally.


Then when making a hard left turn clinking and clanking. Thank God I had a friend with me and we pulled over into the lot nearby. Then we tested the car moving forward Straight and there wasn’t an issue, then we tested while turning and that’s when the clinking clanking woukd occur. Did the speed limit all the way home and she sits in the garage. Went out with the poppers in the ram and got tacos and I have coronas waiting for me in the fridge, just sucks this had to happen right before the event, Speaking of anyone got any axles for sale?

It didn't take too long for DSS to catch up and have them made.

Well that sucks. Sorry that happen. It could be the diff ?
Sounds like what happen to my friends diff that we replaced, going straight no noise but when turning it would rattle & clank.

Drop the diff & pop out axles & you'll know which is broke, if axles look good & insert spline is not broke then it's the diff, which ever one it is you'll be 1/2 way there to replacing either one.

I worry for my axles tomorrow. I am trying to get her to leave a little harder. We will see the limits of them I guess. As long as she doesn’t hop I think I’m fine.
your mph is pretty strong. Pretty consistent passes.
Looks like fun!

@Mean Cat is correct about checking the Diff, because that is exactly why my Axel broke the Diff broke.

Oh BTW while doing a burnout try not to allow the your car to swing out in the back end. I really keep my foot down on the brake to help this not to happen.
And just don't release the brake and and suddenly move out or you could possibly hurt the supercharger pulley. But move out as straight as you can

I don't think I needed upgraded axles, I just felt safer for me.

Same here about axles, after a track rental day & I was cutting 1.41 - 60's, I knew it was time to replace axles (already had the 3.09) b4 they broke & hurt other things too.

The back end kicking out is why I went to the burn box line lock.
It seems to help with that

YUP That would fix that problem a Line Lock. There was a reason when I asked Josh about getting one that he didn't think I should. Sorry I don't remember the answer

So was underneath the rear end. Axles are rock solid. No play. Pulled the neutral safety switch and the tires rotate in the same direction freely and without effort. I’m going to take the car around the block and if it makes the clink again Ill catch it, mounting a go pro underneath the car. After that taking off diff brace and draining fluid.

Also wanted to mention was on facetime with a very reputable mechanic and we tried to manhandle as many suspension parts as possible to see if anything was loose.

When I had the wheel mounting surface clanking early on it sounded like physical part failure to me, but was only up front. STAR fix for it was straight.forward, but when it first started it was quite dramatic and only happened on turns.
