Tire pressure gauge info....

A while back I purchased a gauge with the deflate button for keeping the rear tires where they need to be. I got one of the Joe’s Racing gauges from Jegs and thought that would be the ticket. Subsequently I read some disparaging comments on line about that item and last time out noticed that the air pressure didn’t seem to be as low as I intended and what the gauge was saying. As it turns out... the online commentary was right. The thing is junk. I bent over and bought one of the real deals for real racers at considerably more money and this is what I found... you get what you pay for. Same tire/same time. Joe’s reading 4 lbs low. I can’t believe my beloved Jegs sells crap like that.

Happy with my Oil Filled Longacre analog 0-60. I should check it against another just for laughs though:

I wonder how accurate this gauge is as snapon is usually pretty good stuff.

I've got two Longacres, one gauge, and one filler/gauge.

They are about a 1/2lb off of each other and the standalone gauge I had checked against a master gauge when Michelin came to see me. It was 1.5lbs off.

I'm more concerned with the consistency of a gauge than if the reading is true.
Once finding the pressure that works best, it doesn't much matter to me if the actual pressure is three psi higher or lower.

I bought one of these a few years ago.
Have nothing to check it against, but the PSI reading from the TPMS on all 3 of my cars is always within .5 PSI of what the gauge reads.
