Do you have a familiarity with strip club lights?
Well, I'll say this--- it tuns out that the Hellcat was not quite the chick magnet that I thought it would be. For some reason it only attracts car guys..........

Since the road course stuff is not needed for another month, it got a quick pad change, wash and returned to being a simple hot rod last night.

Welcome back Freebird! It has not looked like this since October last year!

What I technically should do is change the oil. It's been five months and three weeks since the 'Cat got its oil change before hibernation.

What I will do instead is go for a drive. Have felt bad about not driving the poor thing yet this year, and last night I even dreamt about it.

So some of whatever rightfully should've been done today will have to wait. And I hope it'll enjoy its new expensive gas as much as I'll enjoy the drive.

Replaced the shifter mount bushing. I’m sure you M6 guys already know but these things seem to wear out prematurely. 24k miles on my 2016, who knows how many shifts but I could feel the shifter moving up/down when I would shift up into 3rd or 5th.

$38 from Steve White and about 45 minutes of work. Worth every penny to get rid of that little bit of slop.

Was cleaning the engine bay a bit today and noticed the coil pack covers (or whatever these plastic pieces are called) looked pretty bad. Maybe the previous owner used some chemical on them that ate away at the finish?

Used a fine grit sanding sponge and knocked the gloss off them, then used this VHT paint. Not perfect but looks pretty damn good for $10 and an hours worth of work.

One note though, the silver-ish paint on the letters and stuff will come off if your painters tape adheres too well, so get some lower adhesion tape.

Almost forgot. Yesterday what I did to it was....drive it.

It turned out to be right at six months since the oil change, so technically I should've changed the oil instead, with zero miles on it.

Didn't have enough gas to go on a fun trip up the hill, so went to the gas station instead, only 10 miles away. When filling in the log book I noticed that the last time it got filled up was a year ago.

I think that is considered car abuse

I'm not so sure that the car feels abused, but I do.

Not getting to drive my favorite car for that long wasn't easy. Even dreamt about driving it the other night.
Been a bit too busy. Only time I've left the property in the past two or three (or four?) weeks was to take the new-to-me wrecker on a 3-mile drive.

And while I do drive, some 10 miles per week or thereabouts, I just don't manage to get out on the pavement all that often these days.

My son wanted to work on the car today but I didn’t have anything to do to it, so we took it apart and cleaned it haha. We literally spent about 5 hours just hanging out in the garage, listening to music, and casually cleaning the car. It was awesome.

Still a lot of work to do under the hood, maybe take it somewhere for a steam clean? Pretty happy with the $10 VHT rattle can re-spray of the coil pack covers.

Pulled the wheels and cleaned the barrels, finally cleaned the residue off from the old weights

Anybody that pulls the wheels off (like I do) to clean them is just damn fine in my book!

Once a year?!? My '18 has been washed once.
Are you insinuating that it's not enough??

I meant I clean the wheels like once a year. Maybe twice. Usually if I have to have them off because I’m working on it, I clean them.

Once a year? You rinse yourself down outback once a week too?
