@vortecd for slapping me and reminding me how well this works on bugs a couple of times. The credit for the scientific stuff below is from my new hairless asshole electronic friend ChatGPT.
Mix 1/2 hydrogen peroxide and 1/2 water in a spray bottle. Apply liberally to the bugs. Wait five minutes as the hydrogen peroxide attacks the bug proteins and exoskeleton.
So basically:
1. The bugs’ proteins and enzymes catalyze the breakdown of H₂O₂.
2. Oxygen bubbles form → they foam and lift the softened bug residue off your car surface
3. You’re left with just water and loosened debris that rinses away.
It’s the same reason hydrogen peroxide fizzes when you put it on a cut — your blood and tissue enzymes kickstart that bubbling reaction.
Result: Once it’s done fizzing, there’s nothing left behind but water and a little oxygen that escapes into the air. No sticky residue, no chemicals lingering on your car. That’s why it works so cleanly — it attacks the bug proteins and then vanishes.
Now go make those Challengers clean and slick as we slice thru the air!
@BULL is this a wiki item we should have?
