I use a Killer Chiller with a small 1.25 gallon tank, no ice and this is what I see normally.

Mine start low, in the 80's give or take and end up somewhere between 115 - 130F by end of the pass. I have custom Nitrous spray bars located below my IAT sensors so my temp readings are unaffected by Nitrous usage. I'm sure they're super cold though going into the intake ports with spray, it just doesn't read that way in my logs.

2019 lines were when I my IHI with a 2.50 upper + lower.
2020 lines were with my Whipple

Starting temp variance is more related to heat soak than anything else since it requires running the engine to chill the fluids. If I start the car thinking I have 5 minutes before making a pass, and there's a delay, then I generally see higher temps as a result because of the ensuing heat soak that occurs.

Surprisingly, I see similar temps now with my Whipple versus before with my IHI using the same cooling setup.

Chiller's are a viable option, when they work right. I've been fortunate enough to get mine to work well 98% of the time. There are others out there who haven't been as lucky.
Can’t beat in in my opinion

It’s a dragy. Get one. It gives you very good metrics on your car. Allows to you see your acceleration and 1/8,1/4,1/2 mile times.

Yep, would give me a chance to make the evening news. CPA caught going 60-130 by State Trooper! Car confiscated! A real life CPA copying the "Accountant" from the movie "The Accountant". Come to think of it I do have a few dangerous clients. :)

Dam man that sucks.
Get that bad boy out of there and get it to a well known shop and get her done.
That build should of taken 3-4 months max.
If your on the west coast get it to SRT AutoWorks in Az.

This shows many how you should take the build in stages while going out for T&T
I've been around for a long time b4 Hellcats.
Josh@HHP was the best!
Really you don't want to be on the side lines.
As you build your Hemi towards more Hp make sure you take the time for each level and get out to the track for each power level.

I know the side line waiting for a build to happen! For me it wasn't HHP

First place was in Rochester, NY ran by Hack jobs. Tried to pick the best tuner shop in the area.. that back fired - Not the first time building a modified vehicle. Worst shop to date. Left oil out of my buddys camaro motor that was built at the same time my car was being worked on...shameful mechanic work. Almost seems malicious.

Installed every supporting mod in the garage during last winter. Car was absolutely perfect ready to rock. Stock engine under warranty until the sub-par Whipple install started 5/18/2020. 20200503_171711.jpg

Taking the build in 'stages' would have no effect in regards to this situation but is advised for 99% of people out there. I learned the limits stock and didn't feel like wasting time in stages like the last builds. It ends up costing more selling parts/upgrading/re-tuning every season. Goal was 1kwhp out of the gate. Even a basic upper/lower 800-900whp package would have been hacked up by the first place. That's how bad those guys were unfortunately.

Also having issues with the OEM PCM flashed by HP Tuners that is being worked on with DT. OS isn't defined correct or something.

Car is currently at the second in Long Island, NY - They are Friends of Dusterhoff tuning. Talked me out of waiting until Mid-October to send the car to OST. Seems everyone else has had great luck.. Really hoping things don't turn out like the last place.

Warning - to avoid shit show: Take your Hellcat to a well known HEMI specialist that has results. Don't trust the word of local speed shops. DIY if capable.

Long Island... I'm having a friggen brain fart... my buddy down there had the TT Jeep SRT8 and put the Hellcat motor in an older SRT8 too?
I think he was working with AJ out of his shop now?

OST did some excellent mechanical work on my DT stage 4 install.

I'm not being sarcastic. The mechanical side was 100% solid.

They also ran into some issues with my CAL not being defined properly in HPT at the time. It was remote tuned by Curt using OST's dyno. I can admit I was not an ideal customer to deal with at the time but Mike and Micah were always available via email to answer any questions I had.

It all worked out in the end after a few revisions by Curt to correct minor stuff. Cold start on the street mostly. I also dropped pulley size this year after fixing my sending unit and Curt nailed that in 2 or 3 logs. I run Flex on a 2.79 and E85 only on a 2.50.

The whipple might be my next move over the winter...so I am tuning in to see final results.

EDIT: which shop in Rochester? When I had my CTS-V I used New Era Performance for my build. Super happy with the results and with Mike's tuning. Dont believe they do mopar unfortunately...

Update: Good news! Tuning started yesterday afternoon 10/9/2020 - The OS issue with the HP Tuner PCM was resolved, car is no longer stalling out/starting rough, and does not lurch forward anymore. :)

Only concern is the current vacuum hoses being a slightly different I.D while on the dyno again. Still waiting on the Whipple replacement parts. Fuel line wasn't corrected yet. Don't know if plug gap was checked either. Assumed all the sub-par install issues would have been fixed prior to the car hitting the dyno to ensure nothing missed and for consistent tuning. A bit disappointing since those parts could have been fixed/shipped in while they were waiting for the dealer tech to come back from vacation to flash the TCM. Really would have liked it to be 100% to avoid additional down time if issues arose. Doesn't give much peace of mind running the car with install issues still present. IDK maybe I'm being anal but that's how I would have done it.

Sticking through for the results one way or the other. Chiller will be arriving Tuesday 10/13/2020 for install that week/next. If all goes well just might be able to make the last T&T of the season October 24th-25th. At this point though I'd be extremely happy with a running car for next season (y)

Good: Killer chiller installed with a custom coolant reservoir in place of the secondary H/E. Last step to completion. My Drive - Google Drive - Google Chrome 11_4_2020 1_52_59 PM (2).png


Bad: Day 53 in the 2nd shop..3rd week of being promised the car would be finished...no dice. Snow is starting upstate which means the time crunch is on to get the car back before salt trucks start on the roads.

They just ordered the Whipple replacement parts this week after being spotted wrong in a picture sent...Didn't follow my detailed original email and also mentioned it 3 or 4 times via text/phone calls the past few weeks. Very frustrating when no one listens to the customer and does their own thing.:cautious:

DT has gone dark and never responded back to the tuning update 5 weeks ago or the follow up this last week.

At this point it's hard not to be pissed off/share all the b.s. This build experience has been a joke.

Make sure the cooling brick screws are tightened up before installing the whipple back on the car. Those screws can come loose and cause a massive failure
