It's why I went with Curt. I knew I should have in the first place. I was a bit nervous about not getting replies because he is such a big outfit. But that just wasn't the case. Frank and Curt were both quick to respond.
He did the flex fuel tune in 3 revisions. He does enough of them where I'm sure he has it down.

Just to clarify - your 9.90 was on E85 ?

Yes. The computer was reading e70. I probably still had some left over 93 in as the tune was just finished.
I checked at the rail though and it was reading e85. I think it was still learning. I really think I'm going to be able to get into the low 9.7 range maybe 9.6. If the computer was reading e70 I'm guessing timing was being pulled because of that. I used a different laptop to data log and had the wrong tables loaded. I am really kicking myself for that. So I can't go and review anything.
I see you have you said you did a 9.77 @ 141 on 93?. I didn't realize anyone went that fast on 93. Was that full weight? I'm also guessing the FI Spacers / Blanket and 3.09 helped a little. 3.09 will be my next as I bet it knocks a good 10th off.
DA for the pass was around 1400 or so.

"Usually" once you get to E70 the flex fuel tune is making about the same power as on full E85. The difference is negligible at that point....usually.

Good to know. I didn’t end up asking Curt but being flex fuel I’m assuming the timing ramps in slower than a straight e85 tune. Is that correct?
Also, if I remember right from your videos you’ve been working on a flex fuel or e85 tune. Are you planning on running that at the track anytime soon? Be neat to see how it compares to the 109.

Yep I'm working on both and plan some track testing

There's an algebraic equation used to calculate timing and it blends between the gas timing table and ethanol timing table using an ethanol content multiplier. Once it gets to E70 it's almost 100% on the ethanol table. E70 is around 100 octane.

Yeah, you should hit 9.6's or better with -500 > -1000 DA, & if lucking with humidity 60% or less.
My 9.77 is my PB & was -500 DA, on 93 with Boostane mixed to 97, 3/4 tank of gas, no passenger seat & rear seat delete, stock front wheels & tires, stock exhaust with cats but no rear resonators, weight 4480.
2 weeks ago I ran 9.98, 9.99 & 10.00 all at 138+ , 1500 > 1700 DA, same set up but less gas, wt. 4430.
The 3.09 is worth maybe .05 > .10

Oh & that is 13* timing in my tune, fairly conservative.

I was expecting you to say 14 or 15* with the boostane. That is pretty conservative.

Yeah it was tuned on 93 & the boostane is just some safety.

The 2 months this spring I was on 93 we were still on winter fuel and I was getting KR so I ended up going through 2 bottles of octane boost. At that point I realized I was going flex fuel. Our e85 gets pretty bad before and after winter as well.
Octane booster gets expensive! Especially when 93 is 3.60 a gallon here.

The flex fuel tune & e85 is the way to go for power & can't wait to see what you do in negative DA.
For me boostane is cheap insurance, it's $30 or less for 32oz & I only use about 2oz for a 97 oct mix, so I can go to the track 15 or 16 times on 1 bottle.

I did see that. Part of the reason why I went flex fuel. Didn’t want to do that.
Watching vmp videos on YouTube the mustangs drink boostane like mtw dew. Can’t imagine how those cars look.

Great run! I am looking forward to getting mine on corn and seeing the results. I hope to have it ready in the next few weeks.

I already have the 2.85 with 1200cc injectors on a 93 tune from Dusterhoff. I will be adding the dual fuel pumps and getting the flex tune. At some point I will add the AAD drag pack.

I think some guys use 1/2 or a whole bottle to 1 tank, that's way too much, or at least for what I need.
