I just wanted to give an update.
I went to the reveal in Vegas of the SRT Demon 170. I knew right then I was going to try and get one. Unfortunately I also found out that Stillantis/Dodge/Tim K was not going to help me with an allocation. And all my possibilities at all my connected/preffered dealers had evaporated. On top of that I lost or realigned a 30+ year friendship over this car.
But I pushed forward and did what most others are having to do. I am paying a large ADM. Luckily I stumbled on a situation at a Dealer that I have done buisness with before and I have a high level of trust with. I ended up being #1 on their list and they DID call me first. But at that time I told them thank you but no thank you (for 100K over). Come to find out that is what it was going to take to get one. I called them about a week later and lo and behold they still did not sell their Demons yet. I don't think they were trying very hard. So, I got my order in and I helped them sell their remaining Demons......NO Deposit required. They have never asked me for a deposit and I think that requirement is unethical. We all know they can sell the car if you walk away. So maybe a couple grand so you have skin in the game. That's it. Anything more and telling you it is non refundable is a scam. SO GLAD I did not get tied up in that game.
So, I knew on March 20 2023 I was not going to be racing my 2018 Demon any more. I only went to Red List because I could win $1000 cash and I had already paid for my entry. The day went well except I missed winning by 1 point.
I am almost complete with making the Demon back to 100% stock. Except it will have NEW Win Lite wheels and NEW MT ET Street tires (R's in the back). I also am keeping the Crate PCM and Center Stack in the car. But all the original parts are reinstalled. AND, I have a sealed and palletized Demon Crate that matches this car. The last thing I have to do is reinstall a NEW rear sway bar. It will not be easy but I think I have got a solid plan to do the install. The new Sway bar was $125 shipped and is about a week out.
It is for sale on Ebay. I am not in any hurry and not going to fire sale it. I did a VIN Match to this car and I will just keep it in it's retired state and just take it to car shows and pleasure drives etc.
I will start a new Thread when the appropriate time comes on the new SRT Demon 170. Already got the Avatar dialed in...........
