Well a quick search this morning found Amazon having the best price on this oil again (from what I found). Seems that all the SRT oil filters are on backorder right now, so I just ordered the standard Mopar filter. Might want to grab a few changes worth of oil based on what the future might hold...

It was factory fill before Chrysler screwed Mobil HARD in the bankruptcy. It's available at any walmart practically and as often as we change it...it doesn't matter what you put in there as long as it's a top brand synthetic and the viscosity matches your bearing clearances. SBE takes 0w-40. Built motors dictated by the assembler.

I used to work in my Grandfathers gas station. WAY back in elementary school. I remember when oil spiked up to $1/qt. He was torn that he had to sell it for that price.

This was right around the time that he had to get new pumps because they were so old they only went to $.999/gal. For one summer, he simply sold it at $.999/gal and most of the customers would tip some amount to make up for it.

Every damn time I pay more than $1/qt, it freaks me out, and that was ~40years ago??

50 yrs ago I worked @ the Sunoco up the street..I remember when Sunocos premium oil hit a dollar a qt..it came in a fiber can with metal top and bottom..right about the same time Sunoco 260 hit 44.9 a gallon..thought the world was commin to an end...

I used to obsess about oil, then I learned there are better things to obsess about. I run a Mobil 1 filter.

For what it's worth, I ran the Penzoil Platinum synthetic 0-W40 until Penzoil pulled it from the shelves as a result of the Dodge deal so there's that.

It all comes down to what makes you sleep good at night. Everyone has their choice for why that oil. Myself it will be Amsoil. I also don't have an issue changing my oil over 10k. Been doing it for 9 years

I just like that it says SRT on the Pennzoil bottle…damn marketing geniuses.

I also have been "accumulating" PUP from Amazon 1185 vendor as a hedge against the madness, it's the best price anywhere that i have found - still holding at 44.99/case and only up less than 2 bucks in the last few months. the 041 SRT filters are getting very scarce, and prices are through the roof for the few you can find left. been getting a few 899s in their place which are still fairly reasonable
