As stated, if you totally remove a thermostat. it will run hotter than it did with one, in hot weather. it will run colder than it did with one, in cold weather. neither is a good thing. when Dodge engineering validate an engine they are looking at long term longevity. hundred's of thousands of miles. they optimize as many variables as they can. when people start changing components to suit their own whelms, or for claimed performance reasons. they may indeed see a small benefit to performance. But it will likely shorten the life of the engine long term. The reason we see engines living two and three hundred thousand miles these days. is because of the fine tuning they receive from engineering. back in the fifties and sixties you were lucky to get eighty thousand miles on an engine. It's all about miles an longevity. choose your own poison.

![Race Flag [raceflag] [raceflag]](/images/smilies/icon_smile_race.gif) Like most threads here, they eventually morph into another related subject. BUT, it also adds to why I like this forum so much. Great discussion and disagreement. but that is how we learn by maybe considering someone else's logic. twisted as their logic may be , it just needs to consider more than that one supporting fact to be logical
