Same problem I had with my last ride. 17 HC Challenger just before I sold it. I replaced the whole latch, as I remember it was hauling down the voltage when fob button pushed replaced the whole latch, it was cheap in 2019, me thinks like 40 some odd can’t remember exact.

Yeah... I'm thinking more and more, either short to ground, or losing ground (open ground circuit).

Doe No. his case could be different situation, mine must have been some kind of short, it was a hauling down power, as I remember there was very low/partial voltage not full when fob pressed. I think the old part i put back in the Mopar parts box I bought and out in the garage, I hardly ever throw stuff out. I‘ll check if I still have it. If I do maybe crack it open, see what failed.

Thanks I checked 6 and 7 but not 8 and 9. I think I am going to purchase the back button and wiring harness that goes with it. Out of ideas

I hope it is one of the 8 or 9. Pete is a knowledgable guy and has always been pretty much right through the many years of helping the Hemi Guys with electrical problems!

Good luck @jonx96

Does the car think the trunk is not closed when driving?

It knows the trunk is closed. That is the same wire as the trunk light and that works

It sounds like the interlock,(read switch inside latch), is not telling system it is fully closed so it won't allow it to activate....
