Finally replaced the battery with a AGM one and also installed a CTek tender.

Would be nice to drive it if it would stop snowing in NJ for even a couple of days. State loves to dump salt and brine the roads.

Went out to garage and looked at her long enough to drink two or four beers. Then broke the news to her, traded her for a different color.
What color?

Learned how to use a DA polisher. Used a very forgiving compound and pad cause... newb. But the paint feels smooth again, not like sandpaper.

As one amateur to another?

What compund and pad combination did you use?

I bought one of the paint thickness meters (two really) and checked before and after to make sure I wasn't taking any notable clear coat off.

I don't know how much experience you have but it's really not the compound or pad it's making sure you don't stay in one place very long because then you start to burn the paint. I was buffing out the show cars of World of Wheels back in those days and the little secret I learned is keeping the pad moving and only applying the weight of the buffer.

No no no, lol. Just was never good, Texas sand blasting combined with Marylands shitty roads. When I get to Florida shes getting a good paint job but this is the short to med fix.

Exactly, no pressure and a cross hatching pattern no bigger than the width of my body and keep it moving.

One of my favorite combos right there. Goes with my post. They have great products and that is about all I’ll use on my paint.

I ordered these stupid bright LED’s to replace a couple of older LED’s in my garage. I had some bright ones but this upgrade blew me away. Well after installing two around the Redeye last night, coincidence has it, I believe at least my hood needs a rip with the Complete Compound. In the “darker” garage Sunday, I believed the Boss Perfecting Creme did it for me and I was ready to wax. Well, damn. Matter of fact ordered one more even brighter unit to replace one more light before I get back at it. These are so bright they set off the metallic rather well!

@fumanchu182 (you are so close) a hint... the Complete Polish on top of the Complete Compound followed by Best of Show Wax = HCFCOTY!

The first thing my friend said that I sent the photo too said "Did you get the polish too, it's worth it.", guess I'm heading to autozone tonight. :)

If you have it nearly perfect (it looks good on your pictures) and just some small things to cleanup, then, do the second polish with a black pad also and not the orange correcting pad.

Whats the black pad? Rougher cutting or finer cutting? Also had a chance to hit up the trunk lid. Swirls be gone!

Black is for very fine polish and wax AFTER correcting with the appropriate polish with the orange pad.

I’ll use Complete Compound with orange to correct like you did.
Then Complete Polish or their even more fine polishes equal to #4 or their Fine Hand Polish. Those remove the very fine micro marks that may remain after the step you did. Then always wax with black.
