I just saw the pricing release for the Z06. Utterly insane! The price for the base model is @$106,000. Top of the line base price is @$127,000. The list of option prices is priced in the stratosphere. Add taxes and ADM to those and you're approaching $200,000 for the top of the line price. These people are insane!

I know it will be fast and powerful, but it's crazy to think we are talking these kind of numbers for a N/A v8 too. It's Euro/exotic pricing practically...

Have you been able to find a solution to your overheating problem?

Don't be so sure about that...the old Z06s were notorious for limp mode due to heat.

I should have posted under general discussions, not Stellantis.

I am going to see what happens when the twin heaters are removed (hope the bypass pipes are not too much of a PIA to use and remove), and it is tuned different for the track. It is just fine for “normal” use on the street. I am not beyond using the corn juice for a solution either. Last night it got a 225 F, just playing lightly on the street with 85 degrees outside. It really cannot cool itself adequately, and that causes it to really not perform well when it is hot. Everything including the engine, SC, the oil cooler and several cat converters have been replaced on this unit. It works the same with every try. If that don’t work, then I’ll be without a ‘19 Dodge while looking forward to my new Z06. I have sold other disappointments that don’t meet expectations in my life. This one is very close now. The winters are too long up here to have something that don’t work when the weather is hot. This is the time of year it must work for me.

That would cause a certain lawsuit and not just a warranty claim, Eric! They are representing this hand built NO engine is the one they use for real road racing. It would drive me to just rent cars for the track in the future, it would drive me nuts.

I know enough about the past Z06 units to really like them, but you are right, they are a PIA also. @TraxMoe has been attempting to get his able to resist heat on tracks for a couple of years now. I think he is just about ready to try it again soon.

You have to remember you're buying a name.

Yes sir. Most of the Z06s that will be bought will never see a drag strip or track. Strictly a pissin’ contest. I can piss further than you

That's no $hit ! Even my SD455 that only put out 420 HP had a 4 core radiator in it. I hope these bigger than the factory upgrades do the trick, along with a 180 deg thermostat. If that doesn't work I'll be changing out that puny 14" fan for the 19" unit. I don't know what those chevy engineers were thinking when they put these in the car
They weren’t 🤔

People are lined up for these things and yes the 200k-300k will be happening. And of course the story is well……this type of car in a Ferrari or Lambo or Mclaren…..etc etc

I don't think the pricing is insane at all. The adm's and markup yes for sure, and they shouldn't be happening but dealers and market conditions dictate otherwise.

Keep in mind these crazy adm's even on hellcats keeps our vehicles more valuable and in demand, but for those buying it becomes a p.i.t.a

Back to the z06, you have to understand a mid engine car with that much horsepower is going to be in the 100k range, heck a jailbreak which has some upgrades over a v6 rental car is damn near 100k, for 120k the z06 looks like a very good bang for buck, as it's competing with the 911 gt cars, lamborghini, ferrari, mclaren, etc etc

Many of those cars are well into the 3,4, and 500k price ranges.

It will be a cool car for sure, personally I wouldn't pay the adm but the people who pay adm's are the ones who help recycle money in the economy.... well they contribute to inflation as well so not really a win imo.
