Possibly uses it for adaptive learning or abuse mode triggers. But, it definitely wants to learn your driving style and pigeon hole you as an asshole on a scale of 0 to 24 - and there is a significant difference between them. Might explain why some Redeye owners feel like they have a dead pedal if they are babying it every where.

[TCM] 30004 - Shift Pattern Situation Mapping: Maps a shifting situation into a driver type count range and a driver type range. Use this to determine what driver types you will end up in for a given shifting situation.

[TCM] 30003 - Shift Pattern Driver Type Mapping: Maps a driver type count into a driver type. Based on a driver counter that goes up with higher accelerations, the driver is slotted into a given type. Limited by the Situation Mapping.

[TCM] 30002 - Shift Pattern Aggression Mapping: Maps a driver type into a driver aggression category. Once a known type is mapped, this will place you into a given aggression category of shift tables.
Wow! That's impressive.

Wow! That's impressive.

If it does that crap, it may have me in the drive it like you stole it category.
There is also a threshold of 3744 miles before you get full VVT functionality... and it really does treat those first 500 miles as critical and looks like it neuters you.

There is also a threshold of 3744 miles before you get full VVT functionality... and it really does treat those first 500 miles as critical and looks like it neuters you.

Lots of self neutering HC and Demon owners - I like to call them "investment grade" owners. But, yes - it appears that the car will adapt to you and how you use it.

Okay. This is good stuff. How smart is it? Another question. If it stays in street (default) mode while mellow driving on the street. Once at the strip or track we switch to sport or track. Does the learned parameters remain and affect the other mode? Or does it remember how it was driven last in that other "more aggressive" mode?

I have a "normal" 2017 Hellcat. So will my car feel or be faster if I ever hit 3,744 miles? Sorry just don't follow you here....

I have a "normal" 2017 Hellcat. So will my car feel or be faster if I ever hit 3,744 miles? Sorry just don't follow you here....
I pulled that chart from a Trackhawk tune. I can look at the Demon and HC tunes to see how consistent the thresholds are from platform to platform. But, yes once over 3744 miles the PCM will reference those values and the VVT control will occur sooner (more torque?!).

@Speedy could probably test this if he set up the PIDs/Flags and drove a test loop in each mode.

I ask because including my '15 and this one, I have nearly 25k experience (remarkable because we park them for six months per year). I do drive mellow on the streets generally in street mode. Switching to Track and Sport always seems like there is more power there, besides of course the shift differences.

Also, this 3700 mile thing is interesting. We took a detailed look at the sector times the RE did with about 1500 miles on it in June at the track compared to the best Hellcat times (it had way past the 3500 miles). Same driver, same track. Cornering is one thing. The RE was not upgraded YET. But, I was a bit taken back that the RE in its first showing really was not that impressive comparatively looking at especially the time to certain speeds up the long straight. It will be interesting next season to see the differences, especially with this discussion. It WILL have greater than the 3700 miles on it.

True. But the expected and delivered torque changes with each, which will likely impact things like shift timing and shift pressure in the transmission to compensate.
Red key/black key power is controlled by the supercharger bypass in a table called " black key mult" under the driver demand torque tab. This basically cuts the torque in half and you get 5psi of boost stock in a Hellcat. I had to tweak this table when I installed my 2.72 pulley as I was now getting 8psi for black key. That's normally not a big deal but the car does NOT go in the Power Enrichment fueling in black key mode and stays at the stoich point of 13.85 even at WOT. Back in the day we'd have freaked out if that occurred, but this car seems OK with it so whatever.

In black key mode, and eco, it uses a specific set of shift tables (shift IDs).

As for the aggression stuff, from what I've seen in my logs the counter seems to reset at each startup of the car. It didn't take very long for me to get the aggression counter to 400+ in Sport and Track and I think 600 is at the top of the aggression scale. I need to go take a look at how the driver types are mapped and further understand what they actually do. I'm not sure if it matters, or if Shift ID and clutch shift type are the two important things to look for. The driver mapping thing is confusing for me at this point, but I think I'm starting to figure it out.

These are the tables, and again the aggression and shift patters tables are ONLY for RPM. What I think is happening is based on the driver type counter, it puts you in a driver type "number" 0-14 which then corresponds to one of the aggression based shift pattern tables. For example if you're a driver type 5 (which I see a lot in my logs) you're going to end up in aggression shift table 5,9,2, or 3. I've set my WOT shift points all the same in all the aggression tables so it won't matter for me. The part throttle upshifts and down shifts are a bit different in each one though.

Now I gotta figure out the shift "firmness" settings. That's gotta be clutch shift type I'm thinking.

Nope. Pull up the AFR screen in your car and go WOT in 500HP mode. It stays right around 13.5 - 13.8 the entire time.

Looks like the converter I bought is the demon I talked to Noah and the Y202 ink stamp is the input torque rating which is 237 and my hellcat converter is stamped V166 which is torque rating 289 apparently the lower the rating the higher the stall he also confirmed it came out of a 6.2 with a trans part # of a demon sc car so I feel like it’s correct

Well it is just a Tigershark 2.4L throttle body - so it wouldn't be that hard to devise an interface/bypass controller.
