Hey DRAGRCR did the SUPER STOCK with the drag radials do ok on the street and how quiet are they. Thinking of buying one.
I never stood on it. Literally the car was never over 1/3 throttle before going in the Trailer. I did most of the break in on the OEM rear tires and I refused to trash them. Stupid I know, but I wanted to keep them mint.

I was a little apprehensive but did discuss this with two of my good Friends. So I did go balls out on that first hit.

It's interesting you should ask. And I never noticed this on my Demon. But it seems I picked up a noise around 60 MPH and I can only attribute it to the Tires. Maybe the sipes at the outer edge of the tire that channel water singing? I would not let this stop me.

The car drove real good when all 4 OEM tires were on it. Just be realistic about your expectations and you will be fine.

There are guys that wore out SEVERAL sets of OEM tires on all 4 corners street driving the Demon. I never heard any complaints about road noise etc.

Demon Comparison.

At Famoso with 42 passes on the car 808 HP and +550 DA the Demon ran 10.24 @132.46.

At Sacramento with 5 passes on the car 807 HP and +75 DA the Super Stock ran 10.10 @ 135.86.

Both cars had a very similar weight/setup at the time. Same Battery, fuel, seat config, similar wheels etc. Advantage to the Demon on weight slightly and it had a lot more learning.

Pretty good start Ron!
I'm putting some Billet Specialties wheels on mine and am
planning to hit Darlington on my way to Tims rental at Carolina
Dragway. It'll be the 1st time my car has been to the track since
February...

Btw, shat rear tire did you run in Sacramento?

I had the F14 with the MT Sportsman SR in the front and a TEMPORARY setup on the back (until my 18X11 F14's come in, if ever, damn covid). So, the back was a 305/45R18 ET STREET R on a stock Demon 18X11" rim. This is basically going to be my street setup and is not particularly light. The Win lites and Hoosiers are 55.6 pounds lighter for the set..

We'll end up w similar setups when I get all my stuff in and moved around.
My Weld/D5 wheels from last year will be my local ride arounds w MT SR fronts and 315/50 ETStreetR's on the rear.
Track setup will be Billet Specialties w/ Hoosiers on the front and the 305/45 MT on the rear.
I'll be weighing wheel differences once they're all here in the shop. I'm guessing wheels alone will be 30is lbs lighter than the Weld/D5 setup.

So... did the SS act good on all runs? Sixty foot consistent, etc...?

No, it did not. I was freaked out until I got a few more passes and then I realized what was happening. The car was learning and I went through this with the Demon as well. With this car it seemed different and it might have been because it had never been full throttle OR maybe it is because of the higher shift RPM and the limited head room to the rev limiter. I don't recall the Demon acting up this soon. The 1-2 shift is OMG Brutally hard (now). I would much prefer this over a hiccup and the throttle closing, but maybe it needs to be toned down a bit. We will see. I am going to put 12 passes on it next Saturday at Red List.

Catch Can falls in the Diff Brace category for me...........If it really needed it, the Factory would design it into the car.

Just to be clear, I have not installed a catch can on my Demon or the RedEye or this Super Stock and do not intend to.

I read #9. Sounds like another good handful of runs will possibly help it settle in. It's certainly off to a better start than the last car. ;)
I suspect mine has some learning to do when it gets back to the track. It's spent most of the summer being driven only to pick up Poppa Murphy's pizza on $10 Tuesday!

Looking forward to hearing about this coming weekends test...
