NOTE : ORDER WINDOW FOR 2020 SUPER STOCK CLOSES AFTER THIS FRIDAY 8-21-2020

I ordered my new Super Stock Challenger today. I cut that other one loose but only because I knew I could get this.
It basically orders just like a normal RedEye. Same options etc....Only option I went for is the $1 rear seat delete. Also the car is exactly $3000 more than a RedEye Wide Body just like the press release said. $83,191 Plus T+L.

First issue is wheels and tires. One set to go fast and one set to drive back and forth and race locally. All 4 Front tires and wheels from the Frostbite Redeye Narrow Body will be re used. I am 90% sure I am going to go with the Pro Mod look and use the rear Win Lite narrow body wheels on this car. So the tires will be centered 1-3/16" farther inward than normal, but should still fit without rubbing.

These are the Billet Specialties Win Lite Drag Pack 18X5 and 17X10 wheels with Hoosier Drag Tires, 28X4.5-18 front and the Drag Bracket Radial in a 28/10.5 R17. I could save 2 pounds by going to a nearly identical 17" front setup since this car has Scat Pack 14.2" front brakes. But I think the shorter sidewall of the 18" tire will handle better. So this setup gets used as is since it is all brand new and paid for. 0404201400.jpg 0407201547a.jpg

OK, the Street Wheel and tire setup will need changes. I like the front Forgestrar F14 18X5 Drag Pack wheel with the Mickey Thompson Sportsman SR tire a lot. It drove really well on the previous RedEye. Many times I actually forgot I was on a skinny. I run the tires at 75 PSI cold. With the negative offset I bet it will look great on the Wide Body and it ended up driving better than I expected.
The Rear Drag Pack 17X10 has to go. That +30 offset is a deal breaker for the new car. I have looked into other wheels, which would force a new front wheel and I am just ordered new rear wheels. Forgestar F14 18X11 Super Deep Concave 0mm offset Gloss Gunmetal to match the front. I went with 18's because you CAN'T get a 17" F14 in the correct wide body offset and surprisingly there are more tire choices in the 18". I can run the 305/45R18 MT ET STREET R (stretched, my first choice) or the Hoosier P325/45R18 DOT Drag Radial tire and if I wanted to chance a non DOT tire they have the new Hoosier Drag Bracket Radials that I will be running on the Light Weight Race setup in the 28/10.5 R18 and 2 new sizes coming soon 29.5/10.5 R18 and 29.5/11.5 R18, all radial slicks. 0414201608.jpg 0312201605.jpg 0312201605a.jpg F14 HUB RING.jpg F14 HUB RING INSTALLED.jpg DSCN2936.JPG

Weight reduction plans are the same as the Frosbite car.

Wheels and tires. Shockingly the Win Lites / Hoosiers are 65 pounds lighter for the set. All rotating weight.

Pass side Mirror is a couple pounds and a little areo improvement (along with the SRT Performance Spoiler).

Sway bar is not needed with Skinnies that I will be running 24/7.

Remove Pass seat, install Airbag / Seatbelt Light Bypass Harness.

Remove Center Trunk floor Panel and floor mats.

Remove engine covers and stash them. Easier to cool motor down with fans.

Braille Battery, saves 29 pounds.

Drain Windshield Washer Fluid, install Low Level Light eliminator Plug..

Corbeau FX1 Pro seat, will only be used when car is set on Kill (along with the Win Lites / Hoosiers).

Car was delivered on Friday The 13th November 2020. All my local Southern California tracks were closed so I headed up to Sacramento.

SRT SUPER STOCK DRIVING IMPRESSIONS
On the street city driving pure stock with the OEM 315's on all 4 corners, I have limited experience. But I found it to be smooth and quiet on good surfaces and it handled rough bumpy surfaces really well. I don't personally like the feel of a big fat tire on the front but would not hesitate to drive the car pure stock.
With the stock rear tires and the 3.09's the car feels really snappy running around town. Dare I say "Tesla like" electric motor torque at all times. The blower was really loud with the windows down. Louder than I recall in my previous cars including the Demon.
This car comes with Hellcat Springs, Sway Bars and Shock Bodies. I bet this thing would clean up on an autocross set in "Sport Mode" showroom stock.
DRAG STRIP :
I made 6 passes at Sacramento my first time out. The first time I dropped the Hammer it was real apparent the shock valving and programming was on point and worthwhile. The front end came up fast and topped out the suspension and stayed there. I just came out of a regular RedEye and it did not feel like this on the launch.
60 foots :
#1 1.443
#2 1.448
#3 1.437
#4 1.442
#5 1.436
#6 1.440
SUPER IMPORTANT, if you have read this far. I only have 6 passes at this point. But the car went through a period of learning much like the Demon. First pass was uneventful. Second pass had a minor hiccup on the 1-2 shift. Third pass had a minor hiccup on the 1-2 shift (I was data logging by now). Fourth pass the 1-2 shift was clean but the 2-3 shift had a minor hiccup. Fifth and Sixth passes were clean with a brutal 1-2 shift right around 6350 RPM and the upper gear shifts honed in on 6400 almost exactly.
That 1-2 shift = WOW. I am not sure if it will tone that down or not but it is really hard currently. I can see a firmer and faster shift might be easier to time with the rate of acceleration. I am liking it.

I was able to snap some pics with the Win Lites / Hoosiers on the car today. This is narrow body wheel on a wide body. I already had everything set up and paid for from my Frostbite car and decided to just run it. I think it kind of looks cool in the respect that now the front and back are sunk in a similar amount VS just the front being that way.......

I was kind of miffed because the Press Vehicle is shown with the SRT Performance Spoiler and it is not standard. Still a $995 option. I did not order it on the car. I will get it over the counter and install myself. I also may have the hood wrapped black one day. On this HellRaisin dark purple I think the black hood would look great.

That is just the animated picture off the Dodge Build it web page that I grabbed to show what color I ordered. That is just a standard Hellcat RedEye Wide Body. I will replace with pics of my actual car when I get it.

No. Out here we do not get to keep our tax basis when we trade in. We have to pay full tax amount regardless. I sold my RedEye outright a few weeks ago to a dealer off Craigslist. Posted up and in 5 minutes I had a guy on his way over and he gave me a deposit. First person to come over and all within an hour or two. Then the next day I spent 7 hours putting everything back 100% to stock. Original wheels and tires only had 8 miles on them.

How do those Hoosier front runners compare to the M&H Racemasters weight wise?

They are 11.6 pounds. VS 16.4 pounds. They are paper thin. Sidewall is not going to take much abuse. I have driven 12 miles to Irwindale and back on them once but I did all city (mostly neighborhoods) and was very careful. Not this set, the ones on my Demon.
