Stuck Wheel Bolt

Torch it. Have done it before. Really don't have to get that hot. Just enough to get it to expand.

Leave the car on the street w the windows down and the keys in it. Get a whole new car after insurance replaces the theft.

Not on a Hellcat but I have a buddy who has a BMW and they use wheel bolts instead of studs and lug nuts. Well, a previous tire shop over torqued one bolt and I think he has stripped it trying to get it off.

I’m going to give him a hand tomorrow but the BMW crowds, well they just don’t seem to have the hands on experience I know a lot of you guys have, so I’m asking here.

The only options I can think of are trying an extractor set or drilling the head off, sliding the wheel off, then figuring out how to get the shank out.

Anyone have a better idea or words of wisdom haha?

I needed my spoiler and front end nose touched up. So I hit this lady in the ass and getting a whole new front end. Funny how that works. Whole new cooling system and all the scratches touched up.

Make sure all the other lug bolts are tight to remove the stripped one, it'll take some pressure off of the stuck one. proceed to desired removal.

The heat will go to the least restant, so like said before, all bolts tight cause you want the heat to tranfer to the one you want.

Working @ the local Sunoco station @ the ripe old age of 16..did plenty of that...Sunoco 260 back then..42.9 a gallon..and you got green stamps...

I have never NOT been able to remove rounded bolt heads with the external extractors, BUT, you do have to make sure to Hammer it on as far as you can. It makes sure the teeth cut into head better and chances of slip are slim to none.

Next time...the right size quality socket..works like a charm

I have an old army EDIT: STEEL med kit (about half the size of a .50 EDIT: BMG ammo box) filled w green stamps around here somewhere...

S&H Green stamps, you get a few with each purchase and stick them in booklets. After you fill a dozen or so books with a few thousand stamps you trade them in for a toaster (or something).

Top Value stamps were the same idea, but yellow.

For penetrating fluid, definitely try 50/50 acetone and ATF.
If something comes loose with WD40, it wasn't even hand tight to start with.
