I used a few short pieces of hardwood flooring to elevate the SC up, and then was able to get the 2*4s under the front of it and then slide it up the ramp created.

It really did go very smoothly and was not difficult. I was selective about which pieces of wood I used and didn't have any issues with loose pieces of wood ending up where they shouldn't be.

Sorry for the multiple posts, there are reasons...

By using the small pieces of hardwood, you can slowly elevate the SC by getting one end up, sliding the small pieces of hardwood back, and then rocking the SC up, I ended up with either 2 or 3 pieces in the four corners holding the SC up, then progressed to the 2*4s.

Did I say how easy this was?

;)

I'm having some success. Theres a tab in the rear that won't release no matter how much pressure I put on it to try and lift it. Feels like it is pressure fitted. It is starting to piss me off. I have to stop for the day and head onto base but yeah this sucks, two days for something that should take four hours. But at least I am learning about how fucking horrible it is to work in this engine bay. :)

There is one of these in the rear and it won't budge from it's hole and it's a pita right now, might have to cut some smaller pieces tonight when I get home and try again. Even tried just a smaller piece as a fullcrum and pushed down on the front but it wouldn't budge.

Right!

The first piece of hardwood (on each side) is only 3/4" tall, so the angle isn't to high, if you lean it up too much too soon that alignment pin in the back will get tight.

Get the first two pieces in, slowly work them back, and like you said, use them as a fulcrum, go easy.

Hint:. Hardwood floor samples from Home Depot, free or .25c ea.

Ripped apart the engine bay for a spacer and blanket install.

Everything is disconnected just gotta wait for a friend to help me lift the blower. 103 lbs is just awkward to move from this postition by yourself. Had to give the supercharger a tappy tap tap with a rubber mallet to get her to budge. While she is out gonna clean that engine bay.
I ordered that kit last weekend so I will be doing mine soon

She’s a big girl but big girls need loving too. The engine valley and the blower will be getting detailed tonight before being put back on.

Also god bless CO’s who let crew go home early :)

Cleaned the hell out of the engine bay while I’m in here.

Got the spacers and blanket on. Kinda felt like pilutting a diaper on a baby, a metal baby that takes air molecules and makes then angry and forces them to go on dates with gasoline molecules and then they create combustion babies after prom night...

Definitely need a friend to help me lift it back on. Plastic spacers, rubber seals and sliding on wood do not mix... lol.

Yes, the plate are made that way, they are mirrors with just the galley seals in the back for the passenger and up front for the driver side. It threw me for a loop as well first time I put them on, in previous pics you can see they are the mirror of each other.

Just Magnificent!

Everything is good with the car. Back together and no fires or explosions. Only CEL that came on immediately was IC coolant LOW, but it went away after 5 seconds. Also figured out why my wind shield washers were never working. The hose underneath the hood liner was not connected. It would explain all the dirt on the god damn engine as it was just dumping to the engine bay... >:|

Got some data while doing some rips in Marylexico...

data_log_after_spacerplates.png

Max boost was 11PSI. Weather is so god damn humid right now it's a miracle that we aren't all swimming where we stand right now. Not happy that the A/F ratio was at 12.58. That's too lean for my liking. Need to get a Unlocked PCM and throw a tune on here to get it to 11.50-12.00. That should make the car very happy and not wash the cylinder walls.

Also running her without the plastic valve covers. Don't like them, at all.

Thank you!

I've never been a fan of them either, they feel "fake", but those damn valve covers... Functional, absolutely, built in Pre-Catch-Cans ( ;) ) and everything else they're supposed to do, but damn, they really took "Function before Form" to an extreme there...

So I keep mine on and pretend that they're not "fake"...

:unsure::whistle:

Took mine off as well. I don't need a plastic cover to tell me I have a super charged hemi. I know what I have under the hood. LOL.
