Yea, sad times here no doubt, I guess I’ll need to move to Wisconsin if I’m going to ever be able to afford a ported 3.8 like some peoples have 😂
Big blowers don’t make cars fast. You can throw every part at it to make power. Don’t mean it will get down the track

the heads are ported with stronger valve springs and harden shafts
Had Johnson short travel lifters with axle oilers
Manton made for this engine push rods
Manton harden rocker shafts
Every bore and piston measured
Piston to wall Clarence checked
Every rod and Main checked for size plus bearing clearances check
End play checked
Every bolt tq to spec rod bolts done by stretch not by tq
Head studs redone after sitting 24 hours and will be redone again tonight
Maybe do some research on people and how they do things. Not one of my engines have Ben under 1050 wheel hp yet and all get pounded on

Jim don’t build no junk!!! 99% of his builds are purpose built that go in cars that are used VERY hard. Years of tried and track tested experience here with parts and technique. Can’t go wrong with one of his builds.

I live in the hood. But my daughter is a police officer so we are good.

Always check for fastener stretch on rob bolts, always. And then check bearing clearance, rinse and repeat glad you do it right. There have been way too many issues with bearings lately making engines way too tight, can’t just slap engines together

if you don’t have a dial bore gauge and rod bolt stretch gauge, zero it out in crank, put bearing in, torwre fasteners, then check bore on each assembly you shouldn’t be assembling engines. Same with checking main bearing clearance minus the stretch. You do great work @Hatermkr, wish you were closer

what happened to your engine, what lead you to look inside cyl. I`ve been over the post an confused as to what`s going on. I see oil in valve relief, can`t make out if valve is just open or bent. what are the symptoms?

Here it is first start up. Took a week total take out build new 428 and install. Trevor at Manton push rods hooked us up and overnighted all parts AJ sent his secret sauce cam. Making 80 psi of oil pressure running great on Dyno this afternoon.
