Did the same on my connections when I swapped out the stock pump for the HP pump that came with my blower kit from Arrington a few years ago. Did not like the idea of exposed butt terminals so close together in fuel. Used Viton shrink wrap.

Other than a special wheels combo that would require a longer stud, and therefore a reason to swap out, are the factory studs known to be weak?
