Any thoughts or ideas on why the chiller wouldn't activate?
It may have been too cold out? I didn't think it was under 50° but will have to go back and look at the weather.

Were you in track mode or in some sort of custom set up? I cannot run the chiller outside of track mode in my 2019, but I know on later models it’s possible.

My car launches great at the strip in track mode, have you ever tried it? I know a lot of people prefer street suspension setting….

My car launches great at the strip in track mode, have you ever tried it? I know a lot of people prefer street suspension setting….
I was in track mode, which is the preferred mode for Super Stocks from my research. Guessing it was just too cold on the first pass...

Track mode in the Redeye and Track mode in the SS are two completely different things. The RE is very stiff and has pretty much no frontal lift on launch whereas the SS has a ton of frontal lift. I was used to the RE Track mode and was shocked at how much hood I was looking at the first pass I made w my SS.

That explains it, and actually now that I look at this pic below the car said it was only 49° even though the weather data said 52°. Now if I could just get the race cooldown feature to work, that would be helpful. It had all the green checks on the criteria except the bottom one which was "race cooldown" itself which had an exclamation point. Screenshot_20220407-085309_Photos.jpg

Density altitude for my best pass was still 789' even though it was in the 50s. We never have the negative DA here in upstate SC like some of the other states get. This is about as good as it will get. I may try to run again Saturday morning but not sure what else to try other than removing my passenger seat. What is everyone's opinion on launch technique? My 1.42 60' was leaving around 2000 rpms. 20220407_085800~2.jpg

Good pass!... and per my best pass ever.... just for comparisons and to estimate your 1/4. NOV 2021 at Cecil County.
I went 1.41 60ft (on stock Nitto DRs) w/Demon front skinnies, rear seat delete, "I'm 265lbs" & rear brace.
330 4.19, 1/8 6.49 @ 106.88mph, 1/4 10.16@133.30 mph. about 50* DA -900 or so. (all stock 2400 miles)

I've tried everything from 1200 to 2200 in small increments. For me 2000 sixties as good as any and races really well. Higher pushes sometimes and lower won't cut a light.

Made a couple more passes last Thurs night but sorta messed up my launches--car creeped forward because I did not bring the rpm's up while pre-staged. Not sure why I waited until I was fully staged, but as you know you cannot bring them up very quickly or you'll creep. Probably too many distractions as I was trying out the dragy device and had 2 other cameras in the car... This in addition to having to hit track mode, chiller on, pressing the datalog button on my HPT device, etc etc. Anyway, I ran two 6.65's at 105.x on a 1.47... last time out I had been getting 1.42's. Just gotta keep practicing. I still think the short shifting 1-2 and 2-3 shift is hurting my ET's a little bit. We'll find out soon enough because I think I'm going to break down and just tune it.

I am glad to hear your car is short shifting. Because my 2020 Super Stock shifted closer to 6300 and when I did some weight reduction and got it in negative 1500 DA the damn thing would hit the rev limiter on the 1-2 and the 2-3 shifts. So that car never ran up to it's potential. My good Friend has a 2022 showing up any day now, and we are going to go and get that record in January. We need his car to make good passes in those conditions........Fingers crossed....

short shifted 1st-2nd 5100, 2nd-3rd 5800, then 3-4 about 6100 rpms . . . . if it shifted all at or near 6100-6200 (like intended) 9s!
I went 10.29@133 1.45 60ft on taller Hoosier DBRs.... 24lbs of air dead hooking and also moving an inch a pass on rims. :-(
all passes were 10.3s @132ish mid 1.4 60 fts 6.6 1/8 miles at 106 mph. It has to dead hook to show/log the short shifts, meaning
I can't duplicate it on the street.... temps were about 62* 22% humidity and 300ft DA.

I appreciate this. It seems a little excessive at that DA. But if you hiccup, it is a tenth each one slower. If your not hiccuping, you are better off. I would rather have a car that works good stock (no hiccups) and you can tune it to raise the shifts if you want. If you took weight out and put on the stock height tire (27") and were in negative 1000 DA that car is going to fly!

Just so you know I work with the absolute best tuner and he did confirm the tune will NOT compensate for these changes. So it has to short shift to be able to work in all conditions.

Also keep in mind I am pretty sure the 1-2 can be low like that because the converter is locking at that same time.

I think there's a happy medium there somewhere... I know you go DA chasing and run in negative DA conditions along with people in the northeast. But we never see negative DA here, at least not when the tracks are open. Best so far this season has just been 300' in early March. Even last fall, it never even got below 1000' here before the track closed. So for me, a tune is looking pretty likely. I've already run the equivalent of a 10.teen, so I know it has 9's in it but the short shifting is just not going to help me get there (combined with our lackluster DA). Look forward to seeing what your friend's 22 will do!
