Totally agree and there does seem to be an end off times ahead. OEM parts and low-mile mint cars will become a premium, may be 5+ years down the road though. Some people had the foresight to stash away the first batch of Mopar muscle and parts in the 1980's.

Go back to like it was before the Hellcat when we all had to build our cars.

As cars become universal and automated it will be interested to see where hot-rodding is headed. It's been easy to take the last 15 years for granted though with factory-built supercars! Ford and GM look to keep the gas-burners going for a while, future of Dodge is so uncertain...which if you think about it kind of certain for them since the Daimler/Chrysler days...LOL Hard to believe electric muscle will catch on like this current run of cars has, especially if the price is super high.

I've got lots of friends with 40 year old cars that are "like new". Hot rodding isn't going anywhere for those that enjoy cars for what they are. For those that want an appliance, I don't understand why they don't use public transportation. I actually enjoy driving.

Chevy/GM is supposedly launching a program to help restore old Chevy/GM cars.

They have to understand the gear heads are not going to adopt the EV cars. Look at how large the aftermarket has become. A few things can be adapted to EV cars like wheels/body kits but thats about where it stops.

That’s true Boris. Unfortunately we as gearheads are in the minority and the vast majority of drivers will suck up these EVs as soon as they are offered at reasonable prices and there are charging apparatus everywhere. That will not be for quite a while so most of us will be ok with our ICE cars. Those who follow us will become less and less able to maintain their cars because of a shrinking parts base. That will be a long time from now so enjoy the hell out of what you have!

When you watch Tim K’s presentation there sure doesn’t seem to be any excitement or real enthusiasm. I wouldn’t be surprised if his marching orders came from the higher ups at Stellantis. No more SRT and essentially no more Mopar. Roll that over in your mind and let it sink in. For 59 of my 79 years it’s been Mopar muscle for me and next year it’s coming to an end. What a fn crime!

Him wearing a Demon shirt may have been a subtle hint of how he really feels about the whole thing?

I think a big hurdle for the EVs and folks like us is the stereotype (right or wrong) that they have at this point. The ones I see are driven by skinny jean wearing hipster snow flakes and that for sure ain't me and not something I wanna be associated with AT ALL. I came up in a time when the car you drive is an extension of your personality.
