Lets get the facts straight. The only reason Ford put a supercharger on there V8 had nothing to do with balls. There POS couldn't keep up with the naturally asperated competition. When GM and Dodge reciprocated, Ford was again back of the pack.
Plus the fiasco of the '99 mustang Cobra rated at 320HP. The car could barely muster 250HP at the wheels. SVT had to come up with a fix fast because of the comlaints. After the fix we were able to muster 272HP at the wheels. Feb '99 edition of Car and Driver did a big write up on the Cobra and raved about it. At the end of the article they said " We love this car but; if you ever run into a SS Camaro, you will lose every time "

The 9.84 I ran was in 2000+ DA. I expect to need to slow the car down at CF and Moparty to hit the 10.0 class I plan to race in.

I skipped ahead to see some of the roadkill stuff and it was embarrassing. I could've shown up like I drive every day and done better I bet. It was a street not a drag strip. Maybe even used 500hp mode just to aggravate lol.

Well, having a 800HP car and not putting it on the track where you can actually use the power makes zero sense to me. If you just wanna cruise around buy a 392 and save $30K. It's cool and all to have 800HP but on the street you hit jail time and car impounded/sold speed limits way too fast.
Ha! My last car was a 16' 392.. had no intention of Drag Racing. Started Drag racing... bought a HC two years later. :)

It's for sure addicting. I built my old car Orange Krush as a fun street bruiser/cruiser. Went to the drag strip and it was all over from there LOL.
I have been around the drag strip for years as part of my cousins "Pit Crew". I just never had a car fast enough worth taking. My first pass on Drag Radials this year was an incredible feeling. My go pro video you can hear me say "Holy Sh**!!". Needless to say the first week of April seems like a life time ago at this point.

And yes both were right there stairing me in the face. I am sure sum of uze remember the story of me feelin pretty good about my man hood. On the way home from a week in the Keys fishing with friends, boat, and time away from wifey and work. Came down Park Blvd a mile from home and my buddy at the time,,, goes isn't that your wife driving that new red Toyota MR2. No way,, till I followed her to MY house and my twin turbo Supra was gone. Divorce papers were written in the sand,, at that point. Not like we needed a car. I had a company car I drove 90 % of the time and the Supra was a quiet time and place. Nope, that did it. I moved out of town, she got a boy friend, I lived off my exspence $$ and salary and that was it. She went back that Monday for the car,, now,, knowing the damage she had done. The carb was gone. 1 day or she was telling me that. Damage waz dun already.

Im out. Im so angry right now. There is no rhyme or reason as to why it pulled timing. Fuck this car.

Check for anything that could bang anywhere. I sent you a PM but I also saw that exact scenario when my flex plate inspection cover got loose on the bell housing.

Reverted the tune and went faster. No knock at all. Wrote a mini tune. Took half of the difference in spark between revisions OST gave me and added it to the last revision. Will see how it goes…

Even with only a smidge of timing added it didn’t like it. Trapped 139 and no 9 still. Really disappointed.

Quick look at you 1 st log, Your IAT is killing you!! Your run was going great until the last 5 mph, you were almost at the light when all the timing was pulled, that probably didn’t kill your 9 second pass. You have 2 degrees taken out for hot IAT most of the run, timing started to be pulled for hot IAT right after your first shift. IAT’s in the 150’s when it said enough, it probably was real detonation, be glad the tune saved you. Get that IAT under control and I think you’ll be golden.

Second pass you were hot from the start, IAT’s in the 150’s before you got out of third gear and pulling 2 degrees of timing right at the start of 3rd gear. You had no knock at all for 95% of the pass, the tune looks solid from the log, keep that hood open as long as you can, have someone close it for you right before you got out to do your burn out, get a power chiller of some sort!! image.jpg image.jpg

Thank you for the feedback I just don't know where to go from here. Some of the recommendations have been a chiller of some sort (long term game if I get one), get a 3.09 and ditch the 2.62, switch to E85 or potentially I have real knock and the engine is hurt. I just don't know what to do at this point. I'm going to stew. No matter what I do I know I can't solve the 150+ IAT this season as it will probably take a minute for me to research the chiller kits out there and figure out which one to get. That means no more racing this season. Also to drive a track anywhere near me is 1.5 hours away and I'm just getting tired of that drive. The one track is 30 minutes from me but the track is setup for no-prep which means you will never catch me there.

I'm just thoroughly frustrated at this point, disappointed in what I got for my mods/tuner selection. It's not the parts fault they are just object and it's not the tuner's fault either, the tune is on point, just can't win with this stupid fucking car.
