    Manual Transmissions Are The Best!

Never even heard of that. Knew they were retrofitting Italian gears into Muncie rebuilds but didn't know they were still developing all new design's. I got an OEM "all American" in a 1971 case, in super clean condition.....If your interested. LOL.

    Manual Transmissions Are The Best!

There was a time when it was frowned on but for a somewhat valid reason. One, the auto did steal HP and a pretty good chunk at that (TH400 on average 25+ HP loss compared to Muncie 4spd on G.M.'s) and two, the auto's weren't as strong as a top notch 4spd. (M22 "rockcrusher" was basically...

PAYS TO GET A GOOD STRIPPER!

Man we must have some real couch potatoes on here. Everyone that states their weight is like 250+. Makes me lean' n mean I guess, I'm @185. But then again maybe I'm just a runt, I'm like 5' 10", maybe these guys are all NFL player size. LOL

Never use silicone brake fluid. It is strangely and inexplicably compressible, leaving you doing leg presses on the brake pedal to get actuation.

Very weird stuff. Did a disk brake conversion on my '57 Chevy and used DOT 5 silicon. No problems. Worked perfect. Redid the car and brakes a few years later and used it again. Could not get a pedal or get it to work. Bled system with enough DOT 5 to fill a 5 gal drum(expensive). Had to go DOT...

PAYS TO GET A GOOD STRIPPER!

Roger that. And I have the rear seat delete in my 6.1 which I'm going to take out and save for the RE. All those other weights were looked into when I was looking to drop weight on my SRT. I am little low on cash with the new purchase but I'm looking to the future already (like any car guy- Lol)

PAYS TO GET A GOOD STRIPPER!

Honestly, I'm figuring if down the road, I do the back seat delete, lightweight buckets, lightweight battery, remove trunk back matt cover dress up thing I can get close to 4000 or under. Then if I do lightweight rims I'm even lighter. Honestly I was surprised.

"Coefficient of friction" of the leather and the chrome = burning heat. Laudable consideration.

PAYS TO GET A GOOD STRIPPER!

Just took my no frills RE to the scales to see what it weighs off the showroom floor. With a over a half tank of fuel (@5/8's...def solidly over a half tank) I was hoping for low 4400lb range. Came back at 4280! The car has no sunroof, cloth interior, no Harmon Kardon boom box, no rain sensitive...

Just a thought as a new guy,

I just bought the RE. Why? Because I can. That's not a macho throwdown. I'm fifty four and in good shape. Have no kids. Me and my wife both work. When am I gonna do this? When I'm eighty? This car has already shown me it handles, rides, and stops way better than my mint blown 6.1 SRT with 12,000...
